Watch Now: Punishment or Pampering? Inside the Secure...
The Soham Murders
In August 2002, the quiet village of Soham became the scene of a tragedy that would shake England for decades to come. Two 10-year-old schoolgirls, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, disappeared after a family barbecue, sparking the largest manhunt England had ever seen. While the nation prayed for their safe return, a local school janitor named Ian Huntley appeared on national television to “assist” in the search, all the while playing a chilling double game by hiding a horrific secret in his own home.
This documentary delves into the investigation that unmasked a master deceiver, the significant forensic developments linking Huntley's car to the location of the bodies, and the major systemic failures that led to the creation of the National Police Database. After serving a 23-year life sentence, Ian Huntley became involved in a violent altercation with another inmate at HMP Frankland. He died on March 7, 2026, as a result of the injuries sustained. This event marked the end of one of the darkest chapters in British criminal history.
