Correction:
6:00 the RotK game's take is literally a line from the book itself, so this wasn't the perfect example of it being tweaked from the film.

Crazy that they would name it "The 2nd Worst Lord of the Rings Game - Aragorn’s Quest" because you'd think that would have a negative effect on sales

"The framing device for this video is Dorkaxe plays Aragorn's quest because his subscribers are so sick of hearing about Dead Rising and we just need to hear Dorkaxe's horrible pronunciation of Osgiliath one more time hopefully."

Peak is here! We just need you to do the 3rd age game!

In the films, IN THE FILMS did Aragorn...ever wield a shield, like ....ever?

Fun fact: this game originally started development in 2006 as a spinoff to the game Battalion Wars 2. Aptly named Knight Wars, nintendo later hated the story and cancelled the project, the developer then reskinned it, snuck around pitching it to developers, and lucky for them warner brothers was looking to use their new license. So if you are wondering why this game is weird its because its a reskin of another completely unrelated RTS. Working on a documentary of the whole situation.

keep pumping these out i dont want u to give up on ur dreams

This video had more visual effects effort put into it to render all those different fonts than the developers put into the cutscenes

I forgot this game existed. I wish I hadn't remembered

EXCUSE ME, 2010?!?!?!?
TWENTY TEN!?!?!?

I THOUGHT THIS WAS MADE IN 2003!?!?!?

This would be the place to ask I guess. Do any of you remember tower defense style Lotr game mobile that has long been delisted? I bet it wasn’t all that great but I have such fond memories of some tower defense Lotr game for the iPod.

10:32 anybody else get a sudden memory of Gauntlet from n64 off that noise?

Several years ago I remember being interested in this game, I think for the Wii, but then forgot about it. I never looked up what it was really about, and I can imagine being disappointed if I found out it was a bad rehash/rewriting of the movies plot lmao. Aragorn's been alive for so long, they could've cooked up an exciting story.

But that end cutscene, and that pun, though anachronistic, did make me smile, as well as the fact that we have Sam telling the story to his children.

This game released when I was 10 years old and I bought it near release and it still felt too kiddish for me... And to be fair the game itself is bad haha. But if a 10 year old feels the game is bad and childish, they really just messed up everything. I think what you said is true, that the kid-like element is an issue but the biggest issue is it looks cheap and generic too. I still loved The Hobbit PS2 game at that age and that game too was very much tailored towards kids. Admittedly The Hobbit as a book is already aimed towards kids unlike LOTR but still. Weirdly enough I mostly forgot that Aragorn's Quest was semi-open world but this reminded me. That should have been a great set-up for an interesting LOTR game, going around doing side-quests in these iconic locations, but nope. I did enjoy the set-up of being Sam's kids imagining these adventures, and it resonated with me at that age since I was like those kids, swinging sticks in my yard or the nearby woods pretending to be Aragorn or my own totally original ranger OC. Strangely enough I remember the sections with the kids being mandatory and far longer so I was surprised to see it passed over quickly in the review. I enjoyed the look at the PS2 game too since I have never played it or looked into it, it looks dreadful but those sound effects are hilarious. Enjoyed the look, great video.

Oh hey perfect timing. Ive recently been looking into all the Lord of Rings games and just discovered this one. Didnt even know it existed until 2 days ago lol

1:30 Wow war in the north I haven’t thought about that game in years can’t even remember if I played it with my brothers or if I watched them play It but I remember it being really cool and fun. crazy so much nostalgia right now

Who wants to see him do The Danganronpa Games

One of my fav Dorkaxe vids in awhile. I like this style of video!

EA gave us the only good Lord of the Rings Games?

*Laughs in Lord of the Rings Volumes 1 & 2 for DOS & Amiga by Interplay & Blizzard*

great stuff dork. Looking forward to your ps1 stuff too:)

I was going to complain that you didn't mention LotRO when listing games published by Warner Bros. But it turns out that Turbine, the original developer, self published until they were bought by Warner Bros a few years later.

It makes me wonder how such a small developer got the rights to make a LotRs MMO on their own.
