You missed the best part, where he adjusts his beard when he sees her photograph. A subtle acts that adds so much

Naseer Sahab deserves another national award for this.

What a giant of an actor 🙇🏻

I am from Pakistan, and my grandfather was originally from Amritsar, India. During the migration of 1947, he came to Punjab, Pakistan. He was only 24 years old at the time, with a wife and two young children. During the violence and chaos of Partition, his wife was killed and his children went missing. He lived to be around 100 years old, but he never forgot that pain.

So many times, he shared his memories with us—his grandchildren, my siblings, and cousins. While watching *“Main Wapis Aaoonga,”* I could not control my tears. This movie touched me so deeply that, for a moment, it felt as if someone had taken me back into my grandfather’s past. Everything he used to tell us came alive in front of my eyes—the pain, the separation, the helplessness, and the memories he carried with him for the rest of his life.

I cried not only because of the movie, but because somewhere within it, I could see my grandfather’s story too. It brought back his words, his emotions, and the grief he carried silently for decades.

I must say, this movie is truly a masterpiece and a deeply moving tribute to all those who lost their loved ones during Partition—people who were separated from their families, their homes, and a part of themselves forever. Some wounds may belong to the past, but they continue to live in the hearts and memories of generations.

This film touched me from the heart and soul. ❤

I am a Pakistani, and I literally kept crying the whole time.

Sir Naseer should be given all the awards there are in India for this performance.

This is once in a lifetime performance.

Uff Eak Scene main rola diya That's why we call him Shah

I was actually wondering why people were crying in theatres… until I watched this masterpiece on Netflix. 😭❤️

What a movie yaar. Imtiaz Ali ko ban karo, for making such contents. Always top notch. Bharosa uth gaya tha bollywood se. Wapis bharosa kyun laya imtiaz ali ne.😢😢❤❤

thank you netflix  for adding this movie , i was just searching for this movie everywhere , but yesterday i I wept with pure satisfaction  by wtaching this masterpiece 🎋

Partition was a heartbreaking experience for both nations. I only wish that one day we can look beyond the pain of the past and live together in peace, harmony, and prosperity, because there is so much that connects us. Love from 🇵🇰

In the last two days I saw the climax 5 times repeatedly with tears in my eyes...thank you Netflix for uploading this movie. Special thanks to Imtiaz sir.

Imtiaz Ali, it's done bro🥲

May god give everyone their true love in this life only so that they don’t have to come again back in this hell hole

How well Naseeruddin shah portrayed all emotions (pain , love and unfulfilled desire) just with his face…
He should have been on poster also..

Main Wapas Aaunga dekhte waqt maine shayad pehli baar apne emotions se itni lambi ladai ladi.

Puri film mein kai aise moments aaye jab aankhon mein aansu aa gaye, lekin mera male ego baar-baar yahi keh raha tha ki ek aadmi film dekhkar kaise ro sakta hai? Isliye main kabhi aankhen jaldi-jaldi blink karta raha, kabhi gehri saanse leta raha aur kabhi apna dhyan film se hatata raha.

Lekin aakhri 3 minute ne mujhe tod diya.

Jo aansu main puri film mein rokne ki koshish kar raha tha, woh ek saath bahar aa gaye aur main ek chhote bachche ki tarah ro pada.

Aur iska sabse bada credit Naseeruddin Shah ko jata hai. Aakhri kuch minute mein unhone jo performance di hai, waisi acting maine shayad pehle kabhi nahi dekhi.

Maine socha tha ki shayad pehli baar theater mein dekhne ki wajah se main itna emotional ho gaya tha. Lekin aaj bhi jab YouTube par us film ke scenes dekh leta hoon, meri aankhen bhar aati hain.

Aaj tak mujhe samajh nahi aaya ki un aakhri palon mein aisa kya tha, lekin itna zaroor jaanta hoon ki yeh performance aur yeh film mere saath bahut lambe samay tak rahegi.

If this type of films still exists there is some hope for cinephiles from bollywood

Shah….is god father of all actors..

Such a fine choice for dadaji's  role...naseeruddin sir has himself has broken his own records this time

It broke me so hard. I am still not moved on from this movie even i watched this many days before. One of the best imtiaz ali movies. The way naseeruddin shah ji acted and the transitions between present and past. It is just awesome

I absolutely loved this movie, Nasurdeen Shah's acting was phenomenal. Imtiaz Ali made a movie where neither the muslims , sikhs or hindus
Were  displayed as the villian , and illustrated how times and circunstances make people do what they do. I felt the charcters pain at leaving his home. We all know the real villains were the British who STOOD BY and let 2 million people die, after their vaults were filled . ❤❤❤

I watched it twice and Sir Nasir acting ate everyone in Bollywood… love from Pakistan… I cried for two days ❤
