After a long time , Hindi Cinema got a sleeper hit ❤️‍🔥🤌💎
Imtiaz Ali did made the best theatrical comeback 📈🔥🔥

The fact that I have cried so much watching this movie , It was too relatable as my Grandfather loved a girl name "Soma" during partition. They used to exchange Love letters before and deeply in love with each other . Time pass by but the love was still. He died but I remember he used to tell me his love story with that girl that how they met, how she used to call him Wasi with love and then he never saw her . My heart aches watching this masterpiece . I cried a lot that how true these stories were ! And the thing that hits me hard and I cried buckets as he remembers her name at his deathbed 💔.

Nasureedin Shah should get National award for his unmatched skill as an actor.

Can't stop my tears... After a long long time I enjoyed a Hindi movie without any propaganda... Connected emotionally... From Tamilnadu

My dada ji also used to LIVE in Sargoda, my father, when I was 5-7 years old used to tell me stories like we have a big home there, we live happily there. My dadi told me the partition stories like they carry gold in shoes, hats, and my dadi's mom told here to keep it in the bowl of rice (beneath it), still those goons take over the bowl of rice from my dadi hand (she was then 9 years old). She told me when she was 72 years old. How traumatic this was as she remembers all of her life. After watching the movie, suddenly remember the stories i heard in childhood was actually so traumatic for my grandparents.

My aunt love a person who lived in Pakistan after partition and current scenario they don't get in touch and lost their true love ...before she pass out she open her sandook where I witness the belonging of his man she truly love like pakistani face powder, makeup and accessories .. they don't have idea how much I cried watching this ... Hata off to Imtiaz Ali ❤❤❤

Naseerudin's acting was amazing. The movie made me cry. Definitely I will watch it many times over and over again

Cried my hearts out and up for once more 🥹😭

Just finished watching this movie and i cried my eyes out.

Saw the movie on netflix. Ive not been this emotional over a movie in a long long time.
My grandfather used to share the stories with me in his last years. He died in 2022. He would tell me how his father( My great grand father) was a constable under british raj. He would tell me stories and stop and stare at his hands and would look down for hours. How our family came from Amritsar, just 2 months before the Partition. How he saw the horrors being a kid. At every dinner table during my vacations we would discuss pre partition politics. What I.N.C did what A.I.M.L did. How and what British left. Ive read alot on parititon as well. But this .... this movie was different. A different dimension .. a dimension of home lost , love lost, beloved ones lost. He was similar to pali jee's(character in movie partognist's younger brother)age. As he saw this being a kid. This movie resonated with me on soo many different levels.
Thankyou Imtiaz Ali it was amazing. Love from Pakistan ❤

The Horrors of partition reminded me stories of my Grandfather's time

Ye movie dekh kar mujhe apni nani yaad aa gayi. Meri nani bhi India se mere nana se shaadi ke baad 1985 mein mere mamu ko lekar Pakistan aayi thi. Pakistan aane ke baad meri ammi aur doosre mamu ki paidaish hui. 5 saal baad mere nana ka accident mein inteqal ho gaya.

Meri nani ke saare relatives aur family India mein the.

Woh aakhri baar 2015 mein India gayi thin. Uske baad unke parents aur bhaiyon ka inteqal ho gaya, lekin woh unke paas bhi nahi ja sakin. Humne bhi unke visa ki bohat koshish ki, lekin abhi tak visa nahi mil saka or wo abhi bhi jane ka try kr rhi h india.

I watched the movie today and it was so good and emotional as well😭🤍
Kudos to Imtiaz Ali🙌
And Sharvari and Vedang's screen presence was so good.. I really loved them both🫶🌟
But at last I wanna take a moment for Naseerudin Shah, his acting was top-notch🙌🌟

I lost my father earlier this year. He had suffered strokes and developed dementia, and at times he would speak in riddles that I simply couldn’t understand. He held on for months, until eventually he couldn’t hold on any longer.

There was so much in his heart that was left unspoken, and so much on his mind that I never fully understood. I haven’t really had the chance to properly mourn him yet.

But watching this movie has opened somethings and feel more unwound, as if some of the doors I had kept closed since his passing have finally opened, allowing me to feel and process emotions I haven’t been able to fully confront until now.

Well until now I was thinking Bollywood is finished but as it’s said - Art never dies.

The way Naseer uddin Shah acted, Amar hogaya

This movie is a superhit. I watched it with my family on 14 August, our country's Independence Day. We belong to the northern part of the country (NWFP), which never experienced such turmoil and mass killings on both sides.

I have a story to share: There are still Sikhs living here in our community. My late father had a Sikh friend whom we called "Seth." My mother told me that she attended his wedding and enjoyed it a lot, and similarly, we also shared many happy occasions together. We have strong cultural relations with each other. They never missed visiting us during our funerals and entering the mosque to offer their condolences, and this continues even today. Similarly, we also visit them during their funeral prayers. My late father's friend used to run a business dealing in old scripts. He is now very old, and his sons are running the business. I worked for eight years as a professor in a rural community where Sikhs controlled much of the business and had a very good reputation. The point is that, during the Partition, Sikhs were safe in NWFP. There is no clear evidence of how many Sikhs lived here before the Partition, but my assumption is that only a small number migrated to India from the northern parts of Pakistan. One reason may have been the long journey—they would have had to travel all the way through Punjab to reach Lahore and then Amritsar. Therefore, many may have preferred to stay here rather than migrate.
The massacres and mass killings that happened during the Partition were indeed painful. Now we have two countries, India and Pakistan, but we are the same species, and borders cannot change our color, our culture, our language, etc. We need to live like good friends, not enemies.
Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰

Masterpiece. Shook me to my bones. Cried like hell. Movies like this are unforgettable.
