What may be even more impressive than the actual restoration is the fact that someone came up with how to do this in the first place!

You're telling me you could have helped Mr Bean to restore Whistler's Mother

Personally, as a restorer, I find this video and the entire process absolutely perfect and with very correct procedures. The materials used are super accurate, the formulas are very accurate, and the procedures from beginning to end are absolutely correct. As a restorer, I also happen to watch Baumgarthen's videos, and I love them. But I confess that it pains me a little to read some comments indicating that procedures in this video are incorrect, considering or comparing them to Julian's procedures. It's truly a pity that Julian Baumgartner doesn't deign to leave a comment indicating that besides his process, there are many others that do the same thing and achieve the same good results. Perhaps this would clear the minds of some of his viewers.

Is it just me or does the lady seem to be smiling ever so slightly after the restoration? I think she approves. Very satisfying to watch

Stuff like this makes me happy.

That’s an unusual painting, it looks almost like a colored photograph more than an oil painting.

Imagine if we spent our energy to learn all these crafts, instead of being angry and then killing each other.
This world would be magnificent.

I'm 57 years old.  If I had to live my live over again, I would have chosen to become an art restorer.  Just love the process and the results.

Utterly fascinating. The final 'before' and 'after' images showed a breathtaking transformation. Thank you.

I would be absolutely delighted if that was my old granny brought back to life ...what a great job!

Professional restorers are the unsung heroes of the visual arts.

I gasped at the finished product.  Absolutely amazing.

I had no idea how much knowledge was involved in this work. It’s so meticulous and exacting. Requires so much patience and skill. Very impressive to watch.

I did digital “restoration” work for decades. This is truly restoration, preserving something priceless and irreplaceable.

I am beyond impressed. I can watch these videos all day.  These people who restored the painting are so talented.

A wonderful display of restoration skills, with amazing attention to detail. The finished painting looks brilliant. Thank you for the video.

Thanks for the video! The team who did the restoration did a great job!

It's so detailed I can't believe it's even painted

She looks brand new. What an amazing clean and restoration. Clinical, exact and graceful.
