This hard-hitting investigative documentary exposes the devastating rise of GHB, often known as the ‘date rape drug’. Following the cases of serial killer Stephen Port and murderer Gerald Matovu, reporter Patrick Strudwick investigates GHB use, drug-facilitated sexual assault and hidden crimes within the gay male community.

Featuring the largest-ever survey of GHB users, the film reveals shocking levels of overdoses, sexual assault, hospital admissions and deaths — alongside evidence of rape, murder and the livestreaming of abuse. With GHB flooding Britain through social media, this powerful investigation uncovers the human cost of a growing drug epidemic.

Here in Australia, if a young person dies unexpectedly, the authorities don't stop until they determine the cause of death.

im a straight guy but was a round the clock G user for 8 years. First time I went to A&E seek help for withdrawals, the nurse laughed at me and told me "dont be silly, you cant get addicted to G"! This was at Kings college hospital, bare in mind it was over 10 years ago.

Manchester and Brighton are highly negligent in not testing for it . They should be pioneering data collection on this.

I’m a longtime Gay party promoter in San Francisco. Giant all-night dance events. In the early Y2Ks GHB was all the rage with the party crowd.. By 2am there was a line of ambulances longer than that of taxicabs! I’m certainly not boasting about the scene, the drug came out of nowhere, took SF nightlife by storm. Its really dangerous, can shut respiratory and heart down in minutes. The substance was eradicated from the parties, seemed to fall out of fashion, but theres always something new and often very troublesome

I hope this documentary also touches on crystal meth
It was the combination of crystal meth and GhB that nearly destroyed me

It’s also being used in Manchester to assault young woman out on nights out, witnessed many on the “night life vloggers” videos where police were involved! Scary times

Had my drink spiked at a work party. I am so lucky that there was someone good who didn't try to take advantage of me. Very scary experience tbh.
