Ahhh Broadway lodge! Save my life 6 years ago

Amen to this good soul who tried to help the  young lady to a better life .  May his basket never be empty and always  be full ❤

A hug to everyone involved and im proud of everyone for fighting to get so far

I got clean after many years of cocaine, alcohol and painkiller addiction. It took 10 years to finally give it all up. Not easy. Ive rebuilt my life in a way i could never have expected

This is a powerful documentary.
I went to Broadway-lodge 14 years ago.
I have stayed sober one day at a time since.
Not an easy journey, but worth it!
I remember big John 😎
And recognizing several of the staff members featured in this documentary.
Wishing everybody another safe and sober 24 hours 🙏🏼🩵
You are worth it.

I used to be addicted to smoking heroin, I told myself that I was not a "real" junkie due to the method. I went through cold turkey which was the worst part of my life. I have been clean 20 years now and stay away from situations that might involve drugs.

The dude smashing on the door...WTF, trauma invoking

Imagine going to see someone in rehab and bringing them an 8th of heroin. Talk about fucking it up for someone 😢

This is a really moving video honestly

I’m currently working on my recovery from addiction to Cocaine for 25 years. I have also stopped drinking too and I am now over a year sober. It is definitely a difficult habit to break in terms of the cocaine addiction and I am not in a position where I’m in charge of it but I’m determined to get the better of it and not let it get the better of me. Wishing anyone else in a similar situation all the luck and strength in the world 👍

Poor things. No one chooses addiction. Yes they choose to experiment and use these substances, but that is the problem- people don’t want to admit that the fun’s gone out of it and now you are a slave to the drug. People don’t want this horrible life, unless you have been down this road you will not understand. I loamy brother to drug addiction, he was found in his room in a hostel 7 days after he died alone. He was only 32 years old. ❤

There should be a 13th step added to the program - breathwork and meditation

Very moving thankyou ❤
Reminds me of early days of recovery but I didn’t have rehab, straight into aa had kids to look after so it gave me purpose to stay sober/clean. We can do it if we really want I wish everyone strength and courage to walk this path ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I’m very angry that the young girl was she called d who was 21 was taken for an assessment and then to be told she isn’t ready. How do you think she felt after this rejection? That is demoralising. Then to say she wasn’t seen again. She clearly looked happy to be getting some support. I’m so upset at this
You can see in her face as she left the car she was devastated and let down

Great documentary. A clear insight into the struggle of addiction and its sad origins. Childhood trauma seems to stem a lot of it.

I was on Methadone for 14 years.  I tried multiple times to taper off but could not do it. Finally, after my 5th attempt, I got off of it. It was a nightmare! Endless nights awake and twitching. Heroin probably would have killed me, but the Methadone was just as insidious. I had to pay for mine and it became very expensive. I used to call it my liquid leash  ... I could never take a vacation more than a week as the clinic would only give 7 days at a time. It only works if you want it for yourself. No amount of guilt or speeches from family or friends can change you. Just you.

My son Dane died at just 33 years of age in 2017 after a long battle his  mental health and alcohol

My mum went into Broadway lodge back in the mid 80s. After a few attempts she got clean and stayed sober for nearly 40yrs up till her death at the grand age of 80. I spent my childhood caring for her and witness to all that alcoholism and addiction brings.  I first took a drink and drug when I was 12 specifically to change how I was feeling and to try to forget for a while.  Im now about to turn 60 and still struggle with addiction.  I fought the good fight for many years and did rehab and tried meetings with overall little success.  How are we still at this place especially with our youth? Everyone has to take responsibility for their choices,  self pity and blaming others is part of how addiction keeps one in the trap and has to be overcome in order to get and stay clean,  but I believe wider society also bears some responsibility to look deeply at why our youth and vulnerable people became so trapped and condemned to a life not only of despair but how they so easily had the opportunity to obtain heavy drugs. Take it from me,  support services and youth support has been decimated over the past 10/15yrs.  It's MUCH easier to get hold of drugs and alcohol than to have a community and society that gives other options to realise the potential within.

"You know what, if you get this opportunity and you take it, and you do well - you can be anything you want to be" Im not addicted to drugs and this hit hard. Dont take life and your health for granted guys

I hope the guy who was stuck in indonesia is doin better he samed like he was sad
