Qui-Gon's death was the ultimate catalyst for the empire.

Now this is what I like to see AI used for.

Man, I feel bad for Count Dooku, because Qui Gon Jinn was the closest thing Dooku had as a son.

Seeing Dooku crying, it was so heartbreaking. Qui-Gon was his son, the only thing keeping him on the light side, the only part of him that still believed, and with that gone, he lost everything

Jedi are not supposed to have emotional attachments but it’s impossible. Especially when you raise someone since they were a child.

For the Jedi Order, Qui-Gon Jinn's death was merely a regrettable event, but for Count Dooku, he lost not just a former apprentice, but a son.

Count Dooku was the polar opposite of Palpatine.

He believed he was doing what was necessary to save the galaxy from an increasingly tyrannical Republic. He saw the Sith as a bulwark against systemic corruption, which was fostered by the inaction of the Jedi.

He was a respected leader and a former Jedi Knight, who opposed the Order's dogmatic ways. Moreover, he was the perfect tool that Palpatine could use to rally thousands of star systems to the Separatist Alliance.

However, as soon as Dooku outlived his usefulness, he was unceremoniously discarded. Only in the end, did he realize that Palpatine had no intention of bringing freedom and justice to the galaxy. He was truly a tragic character.

Sad fact: Dooku loved Qui-Gon so much that he tried to convince Sidious during the events of Episode III to turn Obi-Wan instead of Anakin to their side, because Dooku saw Kenobi as his own grandson

Beautiful. Count Dooku was always my favorite character the books told of his tragedy long before the TV series did and I've loved his character ever since

Let Qui-Gons be Qui-Gons.

Palpatine really twisted Dooku, imagine if Palpatine wasn't a sith it would have sounded genuine but he was only using him. Dooku really cared for Qui Gon. ❤

Dooku had a terrible life as a Jedi. His best friend, Lorian Nod, falsely accused him of stealing a Jedi Holocron when they were Padawans. His master, Thame Cerulian, was a cocky fool and the embodiment of the Order’s decadence. His first apprentice, Qui-Gon Jinn, was murdered by the first known Sith in a thousand years. His second apprentice, Komari Vosa, was kidnapped and turned into a Dark Jedi crime lord. He was a good man who lost every reason to remain good.

This monologue has more depth than the entire Disney era Star Wars except Rouge 1 and Andor.

Damn. Give us more Dooku!

Dooku is such a good character!

If George had planned his trilogy in more detail from the outset he could have had Dooku as a member of the Jedi Council in Episode 1 with a few little hints of his dissatisfaction with the Republic and then seen in the background at Qui Gon's funeral in quiet conversation with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. It would have added so much to his character, emphasised why the Jedi initially refused to think ill of him and hinted how Sidious turned him. As it is he just turns up in Episode 2 out of nowhere.

qui-gon's death broke dooku, he relied on him to not him cross the line in going against what the jedi stood for, sidious turned dooku into his weapon to wield until his usefulness ends

Wish we had gotten a series about Dooku training Qui-Gon, like "Jedi Apprentice" with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan or "Jedi Quest" with Obi-Wan and Anakin. I find pretty fascinating the concept of a master with dark thoughts and a pessimistic worldview teaching a wise, caring, and optimistic apprentice. The book "Legacy of the Jedi" (which spans from Dooku’s days as a youngling to the beginning of the Clone Wars) gave us a glimpse of that dynamic
