I hate that it took a relative of someone in the police being murdered for them to amp up the investigation gross

she murdered 17 daughters, being a mother shouldn’t have any pull on her sentence

50 pounds in 2004 would be ≈ 2500 rubles, but as a russian citizen i can tell you it was quite a lot of money at that time. a quick google search told me that the cheapest "bottom-shelf" vodka could cost as little as roughly 43 to 57 rubles in 2004. which means that just for that money she could buy ≈ 50 bottles of vodka. a bus ticket around town was 1 ruble at the time and is 40 rubles now. a loaf of bread was around 3 rubles if not less and now it varies from 40 to 60 rubles — just to paint a picture money wise.

20 years is a slap in the face to the victims families 🤬

She needed the money for vodka and didn’t know how how else to get it!? That’s the worst excuse for murder I’ve heard! What an evil woman. 20 years for that many murders? Insane

Sorry... 20yrs for bludgeoning and murdering 17 people?! That is absolutely diabolical. She should never ever be released.

There are so many alcoholics in the world that don’t kill or even assault anyone.

Barely over a year for each murder? Is that really what someone's life is worth

17 murders?? How did she not get life without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.

I’d love an episode on Elizabeth Bathory! I am Slovak and have visited the castle that she lived in a few times (although she was Hungarian, she lived in present-day Slovakia, which was then under Hungarian control). It’s highly unlikely that the stories told about her are completely true and I think the real story (or what we know of it) is very interesting. It would definitely be very appropriate for Halloween!

Can we stop blaming alcohol for her crimes? I know tons of alcoholics who don’t murder.

I lost it at “Evil Hannah Montana” 😂😂😂

Eleanor, you cover your cases with compassion and respect. I'd like to see you cover the case of Army Specialist Vanessa Guillen who on April 22, 2020 was murdered by her supervisor Aaron David Robinson at Fort Hood in Texas US. She was missing for 76 days before her remains were found by an outside search group. The army stonewalled the family. Vanessa had been bludgeoned to death by Robinson on the base. He had with the help of a girlfriend dismembered Vanessa, tried to burn her remains and buried her and covered her makeshift grave with cement. The base even allowed her suspected killer to leave the base and disappear before he killed himself. So her family never got justice. If you research Fort Hood you'll find many disappearances and murders not just women but men as well. In 2009 there was a mass shooting that took place. This place is a disgrace. All branches of our armed forces have allowed sexual harassment, raped and murder to take place without repercussions for the offenders. This is also a disgrace! This base in particular should permanently closed. Oh they changed the name after Vanessa's murder but this year it reverted back to Fort Hood. Please cover Vanessa's case! Keep her name alive for those who loved her and on the minds of those who'd like to see her name and memory disappear.

Love to see more English speaking YouTubers looking into Soviet and post Soviet crimes.
Some cases are just insane, definitely worth looking into.

I think alcoholism in Russia was very common, don’t know if it still is. 20 years is an absolute spit in the face of the victims 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’d love to hear your take on Bathory, the theories and the actual facts beyond the legend!

These police are the WORST! Why didn’t they check fingerprints before they brutally interrogated an innocent woman? How did they fail to find the killer for so long? Why didn’t they get a DNA profile from the hair? We know they didn’t because they kept assuming they were looking for a man.

I never noticed the cat suspect board in the background, so cute!

they called her Raskolnikov in a skirt, not a devil. Raskolnikov is a character who killed an old woman in Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment
also Bilbona isn't an existing name in Russia, pretty sure the survivor's name was Olga

i’m sorry 20 YEARS
