Green Bay, Wisconsin, 2023: A woman accused of an unimaginably brutal murder has just attacked her own defence lawyer in the middle of court. By this point, Taylor Schabusiness had already confessed to killing 24 year old Shad Thyrion and dismembering his body inside his mother’s home.

But as her trial approaches, Taylor’s behaviour becomes increasingly erratic. She attacks another lawyer, disrupts proceedings and is eventually brought into court restrained and wearing a spit hood. Her defence argues that she was not legally responsible for what she had done… but was Taylor genuinely experiencing severe mental illness, or was she deliberately trying to convince everyone that she was?

911 operators and other emergency operators are either the best or the worst

She should be in solitary confinement! I’d refuse to share a cell or be in her vicinity at all! Could you imagine sleeping near her at night?!

@joannasmith1872 1 month ago

She has mental issues, but knows right from wrong, I believe.

Her dad has a lot to answer for. Shacked up with a new woman so soon after her mother died, meaning quite possibly cheating before she died, ignored his daughters suffering as a teenager, rapes a child...it's not impossible that he didn't abuse her too.

I’m only 15 minutes in, that is the most unprofessional thing to come from a call handler like what the hell! I hope he got percussions from that

Even if she HAD been hallucinating or experiencing a delusion for some reason, the response of that 911 operator would be totally inappropriate, because for someone going through that kind of thing, the fear is still very real and they deserve empathy in that. And obviously, if you're that operator, the risk of that caller telling the truth, which obviously is what ended up being the case, should be enough for you to take them fucking seriously. It is literally your job to respond to people in crisis

I think she's crazy af, but still should be held responsible for her behavior.

I cannot imagine any age at which I would allow my kid to use drugs in the basement with a random.

Taylor Schabusiness? Taylor Should've minded her Business 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think she likely has mental health issues but I also think she was aware of what she was doing at the time of the murder.

Insanity plea is too easy. She's crazy but not insane if you see what I mean. She needs to be heavily medicated in prison, not in a psych ward. She's too dangerous for a psych ward too

She deserves to be in prison. She knew what she was doing & tried to cover her tracks by disposing of the body. No sympathy for her as a criminal. If she is genuinely ill then she does deserve treatment, but any illness didn't make her do it.

I despise meth. It is such a horrible drug. I have the sweetest young cousin who got hooked and it’s heartbreaking. A woman on meth slammed into a car and destroyed my friend’s life and killed her mother and 12 year old cousin. My friend eventually died of her injuries after a long struggle. It’s a terrible, terrible drug.
Taylor is mentally ill from all of the childhood trauma, medications and later drug abuse. But she’s obviously too dangerous to live in society. Meth can cause psychosis and psychopathy. There’s really no option other than prison for her. Sad. I hope young people will hear Shad’s case and avoid meth. Very sad. I’m so sad for his mom in particular.

i agree that she needs professional psychiatric care, while at this point she's left complete devastation in her wake and needs to be locked up forever. i also think that she's already been failed by the system at multiple points, so that feels like a pipe dream. her father's crimes are shocking too, ffs
