£190 a month. Works out at 43.84 a week. I spend more than that in Petrol per week getting to work and back.

Got the same car for £140 a month over 3 years with just one month deposit. Less than 5% of my income, way to go!

I followed one on Sunday, couldn't believe how small and narrow it was.
Seems the perfect city car to lease,pcp if range isn't a problem and you are not a family of 5.

100% correct Richard , there are two ways to buy this car. Exactly like you have as it makes the purchase price irrelevant or a cash buyer purchase a pre reg for about 11k either way it then works out roughly the same. The spring is one of the only Eva’s that makes economic sense as the big suvs loose so much it offsets the next to nothing running costs.

I purchased a used MG4 EV (18 months old) with low milage and with trade in on my 10 year old diesel, cost me £12,000 about a year ago. The Scottish Government will lend you the money to buy a second hand EV interest free (the Used Electric Vehicle loan).The car still has another 5 years full manufacturers warranty in place. The car has been brilliant. If I was going for a new car I'd definitely consider PCP because all car types depreciate in value especially after the first 2 years. Does the "click" on the pedal still work on eco mode when you want to exit eco mode for you? On ours it stopped working.

I mean the extra resistance layer on the pedal that you can press your foot to make it "click"

If you don’t go overseas and you get a great buyback price then it would be tempting. 5k is 2.5 years of lease and then it would be worth 3k so very cheap if you still love the car.

After 1800 km my DC charging stared acting wierd. Sometimes doesn't pass check, sometimes charges slower than AC. I can't charge at home and DC was necessity for me especially now when the temperature drops under minus 5/10 degrees it now "burns" 19 kWh per 100 km it's debilitating.

The other thing that needs to be considered is the opportunity cost of the cash you'd use if you bought the car outright. Opportunity cost is the return you could earn on that money if it were invested. So, even if you just bought a bank CD at say 4%, on $17,000 that's $680 a year you'd earn by letting that cash sit in the bank in the CD. My other argument is, I don't want to own a modern car which is actually a collection of computers. I feel that 10 or 20 years from now when one of those computers fails, the car will need to be trashed because it will be prohibitively expensive to have it repaired. Just my opinions...

going to be super interesting to see in another 3 years just how much these resell for. As you said cars, "purchasing" and finance work differently for different people. I've still got my old 2010 Fiesta Diesel and a Kona EV for the wife, both cars I love equally for different reasons. I've often wondered if other countries have PCP or Leasing schemes like the UK does, or if the UK has become so use to high new car prices?

suppose Dacia were hoping 190 per month is at least the deprecation,, are you going to be able to not go over the 25k miles,,

For £1200 you could own it in 48 months. I found one for £9995 with zero deposit and interest free. You are losing money. At least in 48 months it might be worth £5000 . So in theory you would get £3800 back. Nice little car. But lease hire at full RRP is not the way to go

I am retired and have to watch my pennies, l don't get any pensions for a few years. But.... I drive a Jaguar XF and it costs peanuts to run compared to these rental deals, l ride around in luxury with an asset, albeit a depreciating one but l am not retired to drive around in an economy car for no saving. 👍
