I like how even though everyone has something different, Snake still has a “losing” song for his victory fanfare 🤣

Man, this made me realize how much I miss the original Earthbound win theme they used in smash 4

@galaxy7296 4 years ago

The peach one syncs up so well

For some of the FE characters, there's some map clear/everyone is defeated themes. Not for all of them, but the one I can think of is in Path of Radiance (for Ike) and its a good song

Why didnt make the miis get the "Miitopia victory theme" ;-;

@whispercorner04 4 years ago (edited)

Ganondorf victory theme should be "SUAVEMENTE"

I love how Cloud's is practically untouched; the only way you make it better is having the Remake version, or the remake version of Barret doing it lol.

Wow, the Awakening characters were done dirty.

Gotta say, I have dearly missed the longer fanfares. DK's especially.

Some of these work and some don't.

The various different win jingles for the mario cast definitely work, although I would change Luigi's due to the jingle that plays being the game over theme instead of either an actual victory theme from the Mario & Luigi series (due to Mario himself having the original already) or the key item/level clear theme from one of the Luigi Mansion games.

Sonic should keep the "Act/Mission clear" jingle which originated from Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 with the results theme playing afterwards. The original version of 06's victory theme came from Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles' act clear jingle which has been remixed several times throughout the series with some remixes being reused in several games. Unfortunately Colors' act clear theme just doesn't work due to how overdramatic the triumphant nature of the track feels, just don't feel right hearing it especially after clearing a very short act. It also doesn't really feel satisfying enough to me. If Sonic's victory theme was to get changed it should fit either the feeling or the character, the different groove rushes from Sonic Rush are a great alternative if Sonic needs a different victory theme.

King Dedede's victory theme should either be his main theme or Dedede's Royal Payback (aka Masked Dedede).

Sephiroth's victory "theme" should be how it is in the base game but instead of the anouncer saying anything the choir just says Sephiroth's name and it stays with the low drone afterwards.

The unique monster/challenge cleared theme definitely works, feels more satisfying compared to a short remix of the main battle theme/unique battle theme.

Bowser Jr.'s victory theme should be "Shadow Mario" instead of "Enter! Bowser Jr.!" There's a variation of it that plays when the preview for the Shadow Mario missions plays on all missions featuring Shadow Mario.

Piranha Plant's victory should be "You got a star?" More specifically the variation that was discovered unused in Mario Party 8's data. Due to how the track plays it would fit with that one victory screen with Mario getting attacked by the Piranha Plant after jumping.

If Yoshi is going to have the stage clear theme from his fully playable deput game it should transition to the results theme. Doesn't feel the same without it.

Some hits and some misses, but that's just how life is. Keep up the good work.

1) Dr. Mario's Victory Theme makes so much more sense, I honestly don't get why they didn't do it in the first place.
2) Gotta love the different Zelda renditions.
3) Simple and Clean (or I guess Hikari given the portion used) works for Sora, but I almost wish they used an excerpt from his own theme, or even used it for the background loop.

Sora's victory theme was actually created FOR Smash by the Kingdom Hearts composer. Just a fun fact for you guys.

This proves that Kazuya could've had a theme although I think if the tune ended at 9:19 aka the 4 second mark, it would've fitted more to Smash's style and would've been a fine time to cut it off

@Moss_Dude 4 years ago

That inkling one should've already been how it was in game. They tried to make a different version of it or something but it's barely recognizable.

I'm very fond of Ness's old victory theme and prefer it. Though I always thought it would be awesome if he had the looping victory theme from EarthBound.

@Quortezz3 4 years ago

Very well done. The biggest missed potential for Smash to me for these was always the Pokémon. The Zelda and Mario characters all having the same as well, but Pokémon just seemed like using a segment of the title theme kind of sucks when there are many victory themes already in the games. Loved seeing the variety done here.
