I have never thought about Roundabouts being a problem. They are so popular because they are smarter and better than traffic lights. Nice video though.

As an American, I find it funny how many things you think only exist in Europe but are actually common here as well. Some states (more than half) require you to have both front and back plates, you can absolutely get pulled over for a cracked windshield as well as no lights on if it’s raining. Tolls are very much a thing here on the East Coast. Driving the entirety of the PA turnpike costs about $70. Driving from Philly to NYC via the NJ Turnpike is about $30 and any bridge or tunnel into or out of NYC from Jersey is $15-18. Living right next to New Jersey, I am very familiar with roundabouts. But here in Philly we have two and people do not know how to use them. Too many times they stop IN the roundabout which is exactly how it’s not suppose to work 😂

There are right to roam laws in Austria, Belarus, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, and Czechia. I would say the percentage of space where there is open camping in Europe is equal to the split in the US considering BLM land is all on the west coast and you don’t really have free camping options here on the east coast. I’m surprised you guys didn’t seek out right to roam countries if you wanted more privacy and remoteness.

I love roundabouts. When I lived in Finland, I could drive from my house (in the countryside) into town, which was about 20 miles away, and usually, I'd never have to tap my brakes even once until I got to my destination.

European here 🙋🏽‍♀️
Nice to see Europe from the point of view of an American.

Over here, it’s often rainy, but this year was awful. Usually, though, it’s better than what you experienced.
Unfortunately, gas prices are always high due to excessively high taxes on gas

uuuuggghh.... 'mericans went in to EU with no prior research, and just complain about gas prices and weather... SUCH A BRUTAL TRUTH!

Romania is actually in Schengen starting January 1st 2025 (and EU)

7:53 that’s an awesome perspective

I had to laugh about the roundabouts in Europe complaint... You can't even imagine how many roundabouts are in Australia. It's crazy!! Yes, I am European and here in AU it's about 3 or4 times more of them. Thanks for the video!! :)

i like your videos very much.
Ian made an interview one time, that i liked so much the honesty and tip knowledge sharing.
Hope 2025 brings love and health to you both.

You guys really deserve to have more subscribers. Amazing content, please keep them coming. 👍

missed you guys! ❤

There's a program in France that is similar to harvest hosts where you can stay on a Farmer's land with your van.

We had the hottest summer in the pas two centuries - greetings from a 🇨🇭 sorry for the bad weather 🙈 hope you could enjoy the trip anyway, welcome back anytime 🙌🏽

I have always thought the RAM Promaster is just a FIAT Transporter — omg learning each day new stuff...

Hi.  Just watched your latest and enjoyed it.  We saw that Ian was craving pastel de nada's.   Please know that they're available in the frozen food section of Costco.  They are from Portugal.  Brand name is La Vie Portuguese Custard Tarts.  Enjoy!

Many forget that Madrid, Spain, is as far South as New York City. London is almost 800 miles more to the North. Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Paris and even Rome is more to the North than Madrid. That is why Europe is colder and rainier than a vast part of the USA. The countries on the European side of the Mediterranean Sea, especially the coastal regions are warmer and dryer.
Europe is far more densely populated, so places in the middle of nowhere are much harder to find.

many many thanks!

great video guys!

Great video very helpful. You obviously have to be much more flexible doing it in Europe.

full time european vanlifer here. absolutely the most accurate list of pros and cons ive ever seen haha  also FYI, Scotland also has basically free reign for free camping like norway - just dont be a dick :D
