I found TWO surprises hiding inside my CFG XZ20R Chinese mini excavator!
After draining the hydraulic fluid, I used a scope to take a closer look inside the hydraulic tank. What I found was a real stunner — the screen filter wasn't even attached! I removed the access plate, reinstalled the filter screen, and replaced the hydraulic fluid.
That got me wondering what else might be hiding inside this mini excavator.
I took a closer look in the fuel tank... and that's when things got really interesting. There was some type of strange foreign material inside! I removed the fuel tank and flushed it over-and-over until the fuel finally came out clean.
The foreign matter resembled drywall mud or something... But where did it come from? Was it left there during manufacturing? Did something happen after? Could it have been introduced while the excavator was sitting at the auction yard? I honestly don't know.
In this video, I'll show you exactly what I found inside my CFG XZ20R mini excavator and how I addressed these issues.
If you're interested in Chinese mini excavators, you'll definitely want to see what I found!

Just thinking out loud here. Most fuel tanks have a screen at the neck, right? This one didn't when I picked it up.
The screen in the hydraulic tank - totally from the factory.
The contaminates in the fuel tank - I'm not so sure. I'm wondering if someone dropped something in the fuel tank after it left the factory.
Who knows.
