I don't think it was good idea to watch this in the middle of the night when the power just went out . I sometime think my life choices aren't the best

My favorite ending is absolutely the Best Men ending.  Nothing beats seeing the killer in your horror game get caught and shot on live TV.  Bonus points for the comical overkill.

Honestly, I had forgotten how just... Odd... Duck Season was, thanks for the reminder of how absurd what such a simple seeming game truly was

You can’t tell me that this game was victim to the “chasing a game theory video” game lore. It 100 percent had to be the dad after all the Easter eggs

Bro "Some dogs go to hell" goes so fucking hard, actually the hardest thing I've seen all day

One of my favorite parts is that the dog doesn’t attack unprovoked. You choose, to shoot and kill him, so it could be argued the fallout of the game is only your own fault

The "Dog" ending is a tribute to Silent Hill's dog endings. It has to be.

17:26 THIS IS A CLEAR REFERNCE TO SILENT HILL DOG ENDING WHERE THE DOG IS CONTROLLING EVERYTHING LMAO

3:38 In the original game EVERYONE tries to 🔫 the dog. He taunts you and laughs at you when you miss.

It pisses me off to high Heaven that the devs left in so much evidence for the dog being the father and then they just got to later say “Lmaooo never mind” why the hell does he sign “ you are my baby” why is the secret code bad dad bad kid??

It’s insane that one of the best VR games came out in 2017. This game is unironically one of the best examples of how good VR can be for a game concept.

Just wanted to point out that the 7th secret ending is a direct reference to Silent Hill 2s secret dog ending, even down to the dialogue. Also, about experiencing horror different in VR, I totally agree. Been a horror fan all my life but VR horror is a different beast entirely.

I wish they had committed to the dog being the dad as it makes for a far more compelling story than all the over complicated lore about cryptids trapped in the void space via corporate conspiracy.

I fo real real think MatPat got it right and the devs didn't want the story solved that quickly so they pivoted, There is just WAAAAY to much that lines up for the Dog to not be the Dad or related to the family imo

Doesn't feel like a super fair portrayal of MattPat when the dev comment you put on screen says their intent was for the dog to be the dad. They kept all the clues in the game and just didn't put the reveal cutscene in because it would take a lot of effort. The theory wasn't wrong, they just didn't finish developing it.

Man even back when this game released there was something about it that was really unnerving. I think a large part of that is also the real world setting. It's a humanoid uncanny dog creature attacking you in your home, and I think they really captured that fear and crippling paranoia in a way not many other horror games can.

As someone who experienced testicular torsion at age 6 because some bullies kicked me in the nuts, trust me, it has given me life-long phobias that I haven't overcome even more then 30 years later.

The fact that the Dog is not your dad is genuinely pretty insane, that was one of MatPats best theories honest to God

Maybe that's why the Devs publicly denied it, because they were like "Holy shit, this works way better than we intended, we gotta deny this or people will just accept it as true for the rest of our history"

Are those devs crazy that they made so MANY things that say that the dog is the father and then said ,,nah its not like that"

14:38 the dog doesn't wave at David. the dog comforts David by hugging him, showing mutual feeling that David is trapped and alone, too.
