I love the channel so much! I miss my first digital camera. We went to Ireland, and I took 3+ gigs of photos that were just family and greenery. I reminisce about a lot of technology we had.
Yes, I am weirdly happier when there is more "hands onā and less convenience in my life. I am back to CDs, tapes, and records now for music and I LOVE that music has friction, human choice and work! It is so fun to walk into a record shop and find a rare record or something completely serendipitous. I do have a e-reader (so not as āanalogā as paper books) because my eyesight is shot and being able to increase font size is mega helpful, but frankly Iām still reading novels and not scrolling shorts, so win all around.
tbh i do like the coziness of analog related stuff like typewriters, thereās a very old time feel to it which makes me appreciate it quite a bit as well ngl. like it may be seen as being inconvenient but there is a massive charm about it as well and tbh i feel like having typewriters it does rlly help you to become a little bit more creative with your novels and stories as it can require you to think a bit more and thatās the beauty of it iād say as well ngl
I still miss my subway commute when I did it. Get your stuff, put on your headphones, press play on your ipod (yes ipod mini from 2008 still going strong) walk to the station, swipe the transit pass and listen to music for the entire time as you stare out the window. It was such a shock to change to a job where I was either cycling or driving and where I couldn't just listen and stare. Some people listen to music while cycling but I'd prefer to not be hit by cars so that is a hard pass.
I was fixing my fast fashion Gap jeans with patchwork for the duration of this video! I originally bought them in January 2024, and they started breaking down by about November 2025. I was so mad.
Just because a company reissues a style does not mean that itās quality. But, I refused to give in, and Iāve been making repairs to my 1970s flare jeans every time a new tear appears. Over time, they will become a work of art! Iām inspired by someone on r/visiblemending, where the jeans she had were through it, and they probably had 20+ years worth of repairs on them. iirc, they said in the comments that they had multiple offers for purchase at craft fairs, but she had to reiterate that her jeans were not for sale.
And yeah! I learned how to type as a hybrid typewriter/computer. For many years, my family only had an electric typewriter at home, but no computer. At school, we had the outdated computer lab with Apple IIās and Macintosh Classics with All the Right Type installed on them, among some other learning games like Math Blaster and Oregon Trail. My family didnāt get a home computer until 2001.
Hi Teresa! We have a little too much convenience these days, which I think is IN-convenient, and makes many of us lose focus and not utilize our own creativity. To stay away from devices is getting harder, even for the older among us (I'm not mentioning names!), but I still believe whatever tools we use they should be used sparingly.
Instead of charging to my phone for an answer to a question I instead try to deduce/recall for instance - a movie I'm discussing with a friend, or the name of an actor or actress, but so many want an immediate answer and take the lazy way out. Yes, I'm as guilty as the rest at times, but I'd rather struggle and give my brain cells a little exercise instead of the easy way. Research, study, analayzing often is much more satisfying that asking Claude, Alexa or whatever the latest iteration of rapid info is.
This vid reinforced that I'm in the exact right community. šøšøšøGirl, I wish you were in my book club or my Zumba class bc I feel like we could be friends irl.
Iām an avid film photographer. I recently broke my first adult film camera that Iāve had for 7 years and it was a devastating day. And campsnap cams are pretty cool. I have one and I let my nieces use them for funky shots. My only problem with campsnap is the feel, theyāre so light and feel like a toy in hand.
