The scene were he meets lily was probably the only time in the movies we saw Snape with a genuine smile that came from happiness.

after 7 movies, how a 7/8 min flashback changed the whole fanbase's perspective on snape

I love how Snapes mind made the most epic edit for Harry

To those who don't know, after the second movie, Alan Rickman considered quitting the franchise because he felt that Snape had no character development. But J. K. Rowling thought that he was just too perfect and didn't want him to leave. So, because of this, she decided to reveal Snape's love for Lily before anyone else knew. This is why Alan stayed. And you can tell he put real emotion into the character in this. He did such a great job.

Snape really is one of the most well made characters in the book/film universe. I always cry when I see this.

One of my favourite plot twist of all time. So powerful and so emotional. Professor Snape showed us that love is powerful. 😢

Harry: one of them was a Slytherin, and he was the bravest man I’ve ever known.

@MasonNoThumbs 1 year ago

The absolute betrayal Harry must’ve felt here. The man he trusted blindly and without question and looked up to his entire life treated him like a sacrificial lamb. Meanwhile the man Harry despised his entire life had been soundlessly and thanklessly protecting him and even despite his contempt for Harry was horrified hearing what Dumbledore planned for him

Most powerfull reveal in the whole saga. What a character Severus was, rip Alan Rickman and Michael Gambon.

In case you dont remember: A patronus is cast using only the happiest memories. Snape's was that of Lily which is why his patronus matched hers. Snape casts this to demonstrate his love for her "after all this time", and that he "Always" will love her, and protect her child.

the moment Harry made the man he once whole-heartedly hated to a man he dutifully respects and admires

"In tears, after all this time?"
"Always"

bro watched his bully marry his crush. DAMN

Without Lily, Snape would never have been able to cast a Patronus.
Even though he lost her to James he never stopped loving her because she had only been the ONLY thing that ever made him happy.

Now THAT is a tragic life
