I always loved Luna and loved the fact she was placed in Ravenclaw - shows Hogwarts' appreciation of intuitive intelligence.

Luna with less than 16 minutes of time had more charisma than Ginny in all the movies combined

Luna is an important character because she always was never afraid to just be herself, and had no clear reaction to what other people think. It’s almost as if she is a mentor of self acceptance.

She appeared out of nowhere, and immediately got a book chapter named after her.

The scene where Luna demands Harry's attention on the staircase with bedlum all around brings tears to my eyes.

My favorite character in the whole series

It may be a trope, but characters like Luna and Neville are some of the most beloved because of their idiosyncrasies. To have both of them make it all the way to the end and be so important to the climax of the story was beautiful.
