I can’t even explain how fucking goated their 80s stuff is. Big fan of their latest stuff too but 80s was FLAWLESS

You cannot go wrong with any song off this album, but my favourite one is Disposable heroes.
Fun fact: "Master of Puppets became the first metal recording to be selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

I’m still in awe that the guys in the band were all 22 / 23 years old when they wrote and recorded this album.

The drug is the master and you/we are the puppets, and the line ”chop your breakfast on a mirror” is pretty revealing. The slow part in the middle is the rush from the drug, and when the intensity picks up again the rush is gone and you just want more. Best song ever, and the drug got the final laugh at the end.

The Kings of heavy metal. You should REALLY check out their live concert version of this that they did with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. This and “No Leaf Clover” from that concert are just amazing. As a musician, I think you’ll love how the band integrates with the Orchestra.
Cheers!!

This album changed my life 40 years ago. I was 17 and I felt like I was indestructible.

This masterpiece went certified gold with no radio airplay at the time in 1986. They said it was too hard for the airwaves. This album absolutely changed everthing.

Fresh ears on Lars is great to hear. Time always tells.

Watching you go for that ride with that enthralled head bop and grin is like one of us (metal-heads) watching our 12 year old self hearing it for the first time. Rock on Brother. 🤘🏼
