Runes can drastically affect your survivability, crowd control, and overall flow of combat. Some feel incredibly powerful early on but lose effectiveness at higher difficulties, while others scale well and remain reliable even on Nightmare. This tier list evaluates each rune based on practical value, difficulty scaling, and how well it supports DOOM’s aggressive, fast-paced combat loop but more importantly at how they perform on their own.

Once I tried Savagery, I could never go back, both for 2016 and Eternal. It's not necessary or gameplay-changing, but it really keeps the pace up.
Seek & Destroy also just feels amazing. I love how you slide to enemies like a predator pouncing on its prey.
It's kinda funny, In-flight Mobility in 2016 feels like it barely changes anything, but not using Air Control in Eternal feels like a handicap. I guess you are more grounded in 2016 usually.
