I personally see the azrak and witch fight as less of an actual final boss and more of a victory lap, since the fight is way easier than the previous both in gameplay AND lore, so it not really being challenging isn't a big detractors for me.

The Seraphim was easily the hardest. And while it had me gritting my teeth, I did enjoy it simply because it wasn't the gimmick formula that so many other bosses are

Awesome video, Marok is by far a franchise favourite for and definitely excelled where Davoth failed

Dude your edits are insane. Genuinely great vid with real talent behind it.

0:17 That was a sick transition, my god.

What I love most about the Azrak and Witch fight is the lack of cutscenes. The way I see it, the enhanced version is the TRUE final boss, and the witch version is simply there to just clean up and finish the job, and the lack of any kind of cutscene helps. You literally kick open the door and the fight just starts, as if you took him by surprise, like he wasn't expecting you to arrive this early. Then after you beat the bricks off the witch, the camera just quickly pans to Azrak staring at her like 'oh shit' before beginning to plead with the slayer. Sure the fight was lame, but you already had your big final battle, and it felt amazing watching us finally get one over Azrak in the most brutal and humiliating way possible.

Nice one, after looking at Doom 2016, it looks so real and gritty.

Something about Doom 2016 where I think Less is more, compared to Eternal and Dark Ages, is the just the Chef's kiss.

That was a pretty cool transition. Great video btw, The doom games are a blast to play so getting to see some love for the boss fights is great to see.

The Spider Mastermind really redeemed herself from the classic games

10:30 WE all equipped the gauntlet and put the slayer damage slider at 500%

I know people have already said this before regarding Marok, and I wholeheartedly agree.
Marok feels like what the Dark Lord fight was supposed to be in TAG 2, and you could practically feel it. I feel TDA had the perfect gameplay style for those '1v1 in your face' style boss fights, they've always been my personally favorite style of boss just by how personal it feels to fight something that's as quick as you, the player. (Azarak fits that bar too).

I think the Icon of Sin fight should be seen like a remake of the original or something like that. Cause he doesnt do much like the fight in the original. In the original he just spawns enemys. In eternal he also shoots projectiles and slams his fists but is still mostly a wall you shoot at the entire fight.

Your transitions are actually insane, came for the video, stayed and subbed for the quality

Big pain elemental go boom

4:35 its so funny that theres two more just chilling in storage. You get the sense that this is a masterpiece, probably decades of study on what is the ultimate weapon to kill doomguy, and when you final take him down the priest goes "wait shit get the other two"

10:42 I liked that too, they've kept that pretty faithful.

I would argue Enhanced Azhrak and Baalgor Cyberdemon should be above Icon of Sin. One element of the Baalgor fight you don't bring up that I loved was the buildup - similar to the buildup for the Doom Hunters, in the level before fighting Baalgor Cyberdemon you see his shadow walking through large corridors, and you uncover codex logs talking about the experiments of resurrecting a Baalgor demon who was felled by the Slayer. This built up the ominous feeling of the fight and showed that it wasn't just Slayer vs demon, It was a demon seeking revenge against the Slayer. Which made it all the more interesting because you finally found a demon who isn't fearing the Slayer.
I'd even put Marok in number one because of the emotion of realizing you're part of the reason why Valen betrays the Sentinels, right after he helped resurrected the Slayer. And throughout the fight, you can tell the Slayer is holding back, trying to bring Marok to his senses, hoping to avoid killing him. Just for in the end, Marok takes his own life with the very same dagger Valen hands the Slayer in Eternal to stab the heart to finally release Marok's soul and break the Khan Maykr's control over the Icon of Sin. That emotional weight and absolute reframing of Eternal's visuals just floored me far more than the 10+ deaths during the fight. There just isn't a way to top that fight emotionally, and it just wouldn't have held the same weight if they made The Dark Ages before Eternal.

There are 3 bosses that come to mind where I screamed thank god that’s over when beaten in my gaming career:
1. Promised Consort Radahn pre-nerf
2. Ansem Riku in KH1 on PS2 (watching that unskippable cutscene over and over again nearly drove 12 year old me to insanity)
3. Samur on Nightmare on my initial playthrough of AG1 prior to any nerfs or balancing changes. Factor in a bad internet connection which made the loading in between attempts agonizing at 1-3 min at a time. I can handle him easy now and even got UN done, but damn that first time through was brutal for me.

Enhanced Azhrak also gave me the business quite a bit on base nightmare before I really got TDA combat down fully. Turns out I wasn’t using melee enough on my first run of the game which is totally on me. Now he’s not too much of an issue unless it’s 500% damage

Revelations really was the missing piece of dark ages and brought us Marok (BASED)
