my favorite Slipknot album by far!

The making of the album was fraught with tension, personal struggles, and outright animosity among band members. They were struggling with substance abuse, fame, and the grueling demands of touring.Corey (lead singer) later admitted that everyone in the band “hated each other” during the recording process and he also reportedly recorded some of his vocal takes naked and would self-harm during sessions to channel the pain and darkness he felt into his performance. That’s why they haven’t put out another album like Iowa because everyone was in a really dark place.

26:16 "666 Meaning... it means uh... I don't got time to read all this shit!!"
proceeds to headbang
AS IT SHOULD BE

Bro can dance to anything and got his cardio in.

you a real one for fucking with the drummer as heavily as you do dawg. LONG LIVE JOEY!!

Everything Ends is about Corey trying to OD when the girl dumped him. He took all of his grandma's pills and it was the girl's mom who found him and got him to the hospital. Iowa is 15 minutes of him cutting himself and vomiting. And the next album is even crazier but for a different reason.

4:03 so this is actually Sid screaming and releasing all his pain because he couldn’t make it to his grandfathers funeral or get to see him, since they were touring in 1999-2000. So, he’s screaming and saying “death”

Not so fun fact: while recording Iowa(the song) Corey was cutting himself naked with a glass bottle, the screams in this song are the result of that. Corey recorded his part in this song once. The backwards screaming in this song is him saying “don’t look at me”

"Slipknot's song "The Heretic Anthem" is about the band's experiences with record labels who didn't want to sign them to a contract"

Peak album, The Intro is Sid the DJ crying over Losing his father before he could say goodbye

man, you a cool ass dude fr don’t change. made my day seeing you enjoy some slipknot

3:41 Head nodding with joy to "515" is next level

Such a happy life to be living, everyday i wake up i see a new vid from yourfavoritedxrkskin

I love that you are so hype over their best album!

I've always felt that, emotionally speaking, the way they structure the back-to-back violence and heaviness of I Am Hated, into Skin Ticket, into New Abortion, into Metabolic, then into Iowa just fucks with the mind. Anytime I listen back on the full album it's that ending streak that cranks my neck with a torque wrench lmao

Greatest album ever written. R.I P. Joey and Paul, Slipknot will never be Slipknot without you ❤️

Since you want to get into drumming, I highly suggest checking out Slipknot's drum cam video from the Disasterpieces tour when this album came out.

And since you're doing Tool soon, gotta check out the Pnuema drum cam with Danny Carey. Absolute legendary performance.

Plus, I think you'd love the Drumeo YouTube channel.

Now you gotta check their live show in London it’s straight chaos
