Slipknot self titled reaction is here!  Go listen after this one! https://youtu.be/d5B-biXLOHw

Their self titled album has an extended anniversary edition version with more songs where I think you will rly enjoy the bonus songs from that version

(515) is a sad one. Sid Wilson the DJ lost his grandfather and wasn't able to see him before he passed away. He stepped into the studio, started to record and supposedly started crying and screaming and it was recorded. They left it to set the mood.

although its very different to the prior albums, all hope is gone is a fantastic record and i would highly recomend it. its far more clean and modern/stereotypical but demonstrates the insane ability of the band very well.

Certainly different than Volume 3. Will be interesting to see your reaction to this.

1:20:00 Funny I’m actually playing D2 while watching this 😂

lol i used to only want the death metal slipknot but you gotta accept that they have different influences and wanna do other things but corey’s singing voice on this album is fireee and the ‘whiny’ voice is just his style you know

Metabolic is my fav

17:12 so here's the thing, their first 3 albums are like that, with Vol.3 being like a mix of their first 2(rly experimental, dark, melodic, nu metal/ish)the first album is pure nu metal but songs like the bonus song "Get This" is rly death metal and grindy, after Vol.3 they completely changed their sound, so you probably already heard that All Hope Is Gone is a bad album (not for me, I love that album, it's underrated for me, but it is rly different from the first 3), and it also has an extended version just like self titled and Vol.3, but the extended version features 3 melodic songs, and the 5th album The Gray Chapter is a sad tribute album for the best friend and bassist Paul Gray who passed away, (also I freaking love TGCH, way too overhated by most ppl)and the 6th album We Are Not Your Kind is considered by a lot of ppl their "best album since IOWA" or their "redemption album", I still rly love Vol.3 - The Gray Chapter, but I agree that WANYK is the most "Old School slipknot" album ever since Vol.3

0:38  As a huge Linkin Park fan, I have to admit that there are some pretty crazy people in the community who seem to think everything revolves around the band. Your videos on their albums have brought in a lot of views and attracted many people who don’t understand how the wheel format for choosing albums actually works. They just sit around waiting for your Linkin Park reaction videos without even reading the post where you mentioned that you’ve been busy.
I’m really looking forward to the A Thousand Suns reaction too, I’m not gonna lie. But I’m perfectly happy to be patient, knowing that the wheel gets to decide what comes next and, most importantly, remembering that you have a life outside of making reaction videos.
Take your time!

20:48 jeeeezus. That scream in the background is disgusting.

There's an isolated track for disasterpiece online. If you can find it listen to clown, chris and corey during that section. It sounds inhuman.

They were giving it their all during this one.

Doctor Danzig, I NEED your deep dive evaluation of Otep's Sevas Tra

Damn dude, the Lord instructed you to play Diablo 2?!!! That's fckn wild AF!!!

Want to leave a longer comment because oh boy was this album the shit when i was a teenager.
To counterpoint your opinion about his clean vocals - I suspect that the very fact how feeble they were next to those commanding screams was, intentionally or not, a big part of why this resonated with a lot of kids, evoking an image of someone who is at the breaking point after which they can find a more outspoken version of themselves. I can completely understand how coming at this record from the point of more adult perspective and classic metal experience may make them unappealing, but like someone in the chat said almost all of the slipknot at the time were highly dysfunctional and mentally teenagers themselves so it certainly fits if one looks at this as a metal for depressed people (compared to, and I mean this as both dig and compliment, SOAD"s metal for theatre kids).

I also love how this album kinda underscores the inherent contradiction of Slipknot and what makes them interesting - they are A) mainstream B) extreme metal band. Bands like SOAD, Linkin Park or Limp Bizkit would put some snippets of extreme metal winks and nudges in their weirder tracks; Slipknot had whole albums of blast beats and chainsaw-style guitars. And at the same time I remember old metalheads in the oughts listening to IOWA and deeming it radio friendly crap, not being able to reconcile that contradiction: yes, they are a bunch of super technical, super talented guys AND they were lucky to grab a recording deal AND they were sometimes cynically crafting radio bangers AND they were a bunch of music nerds listening to mr bungle, al di meola, niche grindcore and vintage death metal AND they were not mature enough to avoid minefields of cringe that mike patton was vaulting over time after time. And even then, those edgelordy lyrics were kinda justified, given how much taylor's childhood sucked; it was not a rage of kid in a suburbia who was ordered by mom to tuck in his shirt, he was abandoned on the streets as a little kid and had by the time he was 16 already almost od'd twice.
So, i dont know how to sum it up other than: the worst great band of all the time, cant help but admire them.

Horizons by Parkway Drive and Fracture by Bleed From Within are albums I’d recommend.

I actually love Corey’s cleans on this album. They sound intentionally distant. A contrast from the in your face harsh vocals.

Please react to their self titled album, it’s the album before Iowa‼️🙏🏽

I never put the two together before but Iowa ironically also ends with some Cannibal Corpse vibes...

Hey don’t know what the chance is of you listening to it but omertà hyperviolence would be a dope album for you to listen to a lot of people say it reminds them of slipknot it’s short as well like 28 minutes long it’d be cool to see you listen to you point out a lot of stuff that I don’t notice until you do which is really cool also paleface Swiss fear and dagger would be sick

0:31 that’s me😂 so where is ats??? 2 weeks😂

Corey Taylor was drunk recording this entire album.
