To be fair, they ordered him to take the tank...

They never specified WHERE to take it, or WHAT to do with it once there...

I "met" him in about 1988 at Ft Hood while I was a tanker with D Co. 3/32 AR. They were doing some research on the history of the unit and discovered that Mr. Pool was still alive and living in Texas. He was brought to Ft. Hood a couple of times and given a grand welcome. Memories are a bit vague from that time but an M1 was given a new name .. "In the mood" painted on the gun tube and Mr. Pool was in the commander's hatch as the tank was brought in front of the entire Battalion standing in formation in the Motor Pool. Speeches were given and we were brought to attention and saluted the man. I remember the grin on his face ... all the awards in the world don't mean as much as the respect show to him that day.

One time they had a canopy erected on a hill overlooking where a tank company maneuvered against another. Mr. Pool and his wife were in seats under the canopy so he could watch those tanks maneuver. He had a Major acting as an aide who had a radio to talk to those  units. Mr. Pool was not impressed by some of that maneuvering and critiqued it. This was passed on and the operation was repeated after those critiques.

During this I was there as a "Goofer" bringing bottles of cold water and sandwiches to Mr. Pool and his wife.

It was a great day.

Hey!
I'm glad you got to this one! 🎉

30 million pounds, that had to be Buff...

This may be my favorite TFE video. Glad you got to it brother! Makes me wanna go watch Fury again lol

Only War Daddy and the fact that it followed his tank crew was similar. And a few scenes were similar But The movie was set in April 1945, not June-September 1944

19:19, I hope you said "I ran that one day, in 50 minutes."
Not "I ran that in one day and 50 minutes". LOL 😂😂 😂

15:40, in that scene, you can notice, Norman (AKA Machine) is the only one
not firing. First time in combat, didn't know what to do. Thought that was cool.

Recommending operator drewski again videos suggest is “the modern trench war in arma”

I'm actually commenting again, because I'm one of the few who truly hated fury, because it was so wildly inaccurate.
It felt like a disservice and an insult to the actual crew of In the mood.
I have strong feelings about the servicemen of ww2.

It was called In The Mood as a double entendre, I would say a triple entendre myself.  😅 The most popular band at the time of the war was The Glen Miller Band and they had a hit song named In The Mood.

May want to check out the book Spearpoint.

The trick to CIV is combat loss or ‘the fire’

They used the name fury based on the book that inspired the movie

/(-_-) attention on deck, Sir I think we need a gear inspection this weekend... I think 🤔 some Marines are missing their Ink Stick lol

Schweeet!! Les gooo! Hopefully we'll get more geet vids. If you liked this one please check out his other vid about. Joseph medicine crow the last war chief!!

Lieutenant. The other spot that Allied tank crews learned to shoot at was that minute gap between the turret and, the hull. It would prevent that Tiger crew from being able to rotate the turret and, return fire at wherever they're receiving it from. The Tiger II, aka, King Tiger, aka, Tiger Royal had even thicker armor. Tiger I's had 100mm. of frontal and, I believe side armor, also. The Tiger II's, I think, had upwards of close to 200mm. of armor protection. Also, the main gun was a longer barrel 88mm. gun. The exact same gun the Luftwaffe used against Allied bombers. Heck, Luftwaffe gun crews would LITERALLY USE WATCHES TO TIME THE WHERMACHT GUN CREWS IN TIGER TANKS TO GET THEM TO LOAD, FIRE AND, RELOAD AS FAST AS THEY DID, DURING AIR RAIDS!!! Yeah. That actually did happen, sir. Mind you. They were using pocket watches that were used in track-and-field games. Those kind. If you ever saw the movie "The Hunt For Red October" with Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin and, Sam Niell, you'd know exactly what I'm talking about. Because, on 2 separate occasions in that movie, Sam Niell's character, the XO of Red October, actually uses that same type of stop watch. He uses it to time the impact of a torpedo. The Luftwaffe gun crews use them to time Whermacht Tiger Tank crews in loading, firing and, reloading the 88mm. main gun.

No... to be fair, the tiger tank was actually a major problem in a great many ways. It was too heavy to ever cross a single bridge and cleaning the tracks/suspension was almost impossible without removing half the wheels. You won't penetrate the armor, but that was just about the only good thing with it

There wasn't anything particularly useful on the Tiger II in terms of technology. We were already putting torsion bar suspension on armored vehicles. We had the far superior FM radios. The 90mm tank gun was being fitted to the M-10 to create the M-36 tank destroyer. The engine was too small for the weight of the tank and the final drives on the Tiger II and Pather weas too weak for the tonnage.

Hey love your videos can you watch the rebellion of Naboo by darth bacon I think you will like it
