Yes I know, it's a skill issue...

The goal shifted from creating fun experiences to creating addicting experiences.

Titanfall works so well because it was momentum based, you had to build speed overtime and you couldn't really just change direction on a dime. Also it had titans

Can we talk about how we lost military units/factions and their epic voice lines like Spetsnaz, Seals, Militia, etc

This video aged so well with the Bo1 and 2 ports.

When I saw the MW4 DMZ trailer, I was  enthralled with how cool it looked. The atmosphere, the slower pace, and spontaneity of firefights looked really cool and immersive. But undercutting that trailer was the knowledge that NO match would look like that

I'm 31 now and dont want to play like a fucking speed demon after a hard day smh...

it's like a movement shooter without the same kinetic skill that most movement shooters require

I thought MW2 had the best  movement because it didn't focus on ADHD movement, it focused on who had better aim.

The OG marathon and lightweight used to be balanced due to the player having to surrender stopping power

They dont want you to focus on the ass map layouts, they want you to sprint into the big action areas and forget the rest

"Over the last decade"

This got me, thinking. The 2016 cod was Bo3/ Infinite Warfare

I’m 45 now, and honestly, I’m starting to feel like games need to respect my time, my pace and my brain a little more.

I’ve been gaming for most of my life, but CoD just keeps getting faster and more frantic. Sliding, jumping, diving, constant movement… sometimes it feels like speed itself has become the skill.

I’m not asking for games to become boring or slow. I still love action. I just want games where positioning, awareness, timing and experience matter too. Sometimes I want to sit down after a long day, relax, and enjoy the game instead of feeling like I need 20-year-old reflexes just to survive.

And the funny thing is, all those kids who think speed is everything will eventually be 40, 45, 50 themselves.

Their reactions will slow down. Life will get busier. And one day they’ll understand exactly what we were talking about.

Maybe then they’ll realize:

We didn’t stop loving games. We just wanted games to grow old with us.

And maybe they’ll think back and say… “Damn, he was right all along.”

The ASS principle was genuinely eye opening to me, I've never realized how everyone can perceive speed or even lack thereof as annoying depending on perspective

High speed movement also looks good in a streamer montage, for people who’d rather watch someone else play a game than to take the time to play it themselves.

Obsession with movement ruined COD

I got motion sickness watching this

Going from bo7 back to bo1 feels insane

Sliding is what put the nail in the coffin. Its actually insane how fast enemies can go from being at the center of your screen to completely disappearing into the floor and killing you. Sliding is pretty much giving people a few hundred frames of invincibility if they're coming straight at you. And people used to complain about last stand and 2nd chance lol

Crazy to think how much hated Advanced Warfare was back then, it was still miles slower than modern "boots on the ground" cod
