we have got to stop making people famous because they're conventionally attractive 😭 we're making them think they're actually talented

The point of dark humor is to make fun of the absurdity surrounding dark topics, not reinforcing them

I feel like men don’t realize that once people find out you’re an asshole, usually your attractiveness becomes obsolete. At least for me

matt rife is the type of guy who looks at himself in the mirror before going out and says: “you got this king” and runs his hand through his hair before getting out of the door

When are TikTok comedians not completely sexist and gross? Its like finding a nonexistent needle in a nonexistent haystack

It's like his group of frat friends consider him the 'funny one' and he decided to make a career out of it

If a comedian ended their actual set by sitting down on a chair, standing back up again and saying "stand up comedy" I would go to all of their shows

10:11 he believes in ghosts because every woman he's ever dated has ghosted him

"Being attractive is hindering my career"

The dude looks AI-generated. And I bet his routines are too.

He’s basically a pick me girl
“I only hang out with guys”, “I hate social media 🥰”, “I hate girls, they r so much drama”, “I work so hard and I’m so nerdy” etc.

You guys just don't understand, his comedy is just so creative and original and ground breaking... Which is why it is basically the same jokes that comedians have been telling since the 1950's and you could hear the exact same comedy routine for free if you hung out with a bunch of preteen or teen boys. And his response is just so brilliant, it definitely isn't the type of response you would hear from middle or high school boys.

11:31 Idk why but when she says it it scrathes my brain

I love how obsessed he is with proving his comedy is for men

Being a comedian these days is pointless. Why bother when Chad is the funniest person alive

Bo Burnham is the living proof that you can be satire/edgy, write offensive jokes and still be funny because the guy is a genius at writing them. Matt ain't it

8:30 dude... the gum jokes leading to the veneers punchline... Brilliant stuff! That was one of my first thoughts when I first saw this guy. Who wants teeth so flourescently white, and perfect that you can tell they're fake from across a room?

The real controversy is Netflix letting someone of this caliber get a special. Like it's fucked up. There has to be SOME barrier to entry. Gotta have ONE joke.

As a big fan of dark and edgy humour,
The golden rule is that the Joke needs to be funnier than it is offensive.
The thing with Matt is that his joke wasn't really that funny, only offensive.

7:09 i think it would be more like if he got up there and then shoved his sherpa guide down the mountain. but that would basically be a documentary about everest, so
