Hello dear... I like your video because you didn't hide anything , unlike others, Always when you mount or demount tires keep in mind the followings: 1- You should be aware and no doubt about the rims real and correct size 2- Also if The rims were originals not rebuilted or reconditioned 3- If you or the previous owner maybe got the rims from different vehicle or bought it from after market unknown sources 4- If the tire or rims been reconditioned/rebuilted 5- If so all the above information will guide you to struggle because 1/4" or a 1/2" more or less makes you hard to complete the fittings.. Imagine a few millimeters more coatings on your tire beeds or on rims sizes may drag you to use force n damaging your tires.. Always use tires holder clamps and original lub it is cheep n available at Amazon or eBay , dont use soaps it is corrosive.. Good luck and all the best
it beats going to a shop waiting a hour then handing over 30 bucks or if your in a pinch on a Sunday I got a harbor freight different style its always a struggle bead breaking is the worst half the time I'm driving over the tire with my truck to break bead but its save my arse
These manual tire changers need to be modified to take a duck-head adapter, which feed the tire on more easily. Lucid or Exodios do good conversion kits, but they don't fit this type of tire changer, as they a made for the 40mm post of the Harbour Freight model. You can fit bearing races inside them to suit the narrower centre pole of this tire changer. Be careful of the flimsy black duck-head adapter kits from China - they are made of 1" thin-wall square section instead of the better red 2" square section thick-wall steel tubing of the Lucid and Exodios adapters. The centre pole could do with an old tennis ball to save hitting yourself on it.🎾
The Harbor Freight version is worse in almost every way. It doesn’t have the bottom-mounted center post, the post doesn’t fit ANYTHING, and there is absolutely nothing to hold the tire rim. While the one you have is supposedly limited to 16.5” and smaller all you have to do is remove a piece to fix that. Harbor Freight’s only technically “fits” since it doesn’t actually clamp anything, doesn’t center anything, and doesn’t keep anything from turning.
Thinking of buying one but when I watched the video ??? it's a big struggle to get the job done. Is it worth as I wanna do 18" truck tyres. Can't make my mind yet.
