This took me awhile to get the hang of it but after having this for a year or so I can quickly change tires on any of my cars. I just mounted huge 18" AT tires for may Land rover with the biggest effort being placing it on the changer. Adjust the duckbill properly and lube well.
In the first part where you showed a chunk coming out of the tread, you said something like, "It seemed to be dangerous", around the 2-minute mark. It was way past that, when chunks were coming out. I did fabricate the adapter styled after the Lucid-branded one, and it was significantly less costly. It isn't as "pretty", but it works exactly the same. Your procedures are pretty much the same as what I do otherwise. 👍
Excellent job on dismount and mount on the tires...👍... looks like the modifications you did really work well..may I recommend buying a electronic dynamic balancer? It makes all the difference in the way your car will drive / ride....I've had people hit me up to balance their wheels on my machine and they asked me to spin them without taking the weights off to see how far out they were and they were totally off..I asked what shop balanced them and they told me they did em themselves on a bubble balancer... it's impossible to get them zero inner and outer within+1/-1 gram without a machine...
Great video, thanks. I have the same balancer. I always put my weights center of the rim. I have zero issues at any speed, and driving feels completely smooth.
Is the bubble balancer for wheels of a certain center bore size? When you used the lug nuts on the lucid adapter, would that work for different bolt patterns (5 x 114.3, 4 x ...)? Are there adapters/spacers to allow for other sizes and bolt patterns?
