This is why the Territories were great: you would have matches go on 20, 30, 40, and sometimes even a full hour. Hell, this one match here has more wrestling than an entire three-hour Raw.
Love how Ric could wrestle a mop for an hour. At this point McDaniels was older, and Flair worked with him so well. Kept the pace slower, and both parties delivered an epic battle. 60 minute matches so much more enjoyable than 5 minutes of flash, and 20 minutes of bad mic work.
It was also from Wahoo that Ric Flair got his famous chops across the chest from. They remained close friends until the untimely death of Wahoo and Ric has said multiple times that Wahoo, along with Harley Race, are the two toughest men he has ever performed with.
The absolute best 3 fall wrestling match I've ever seen, ever...! Regardless of the end, this established firmly in my mind that Ric Flair was an actual athlete and a serious professional wrestler.
Flair was always one of the best sellers in the business. He was the perfect heel and perfect champion. With the exception of MAYBE Tully Blanchard, people wanted to see him get his ass kicked. And as champion, he knew how to have a match that deserved to be the pinnacle of any show.
I also like Mike Graham's commentary. Much better than I would have expected from him.
I couldn't even count the number of times I have seen these 2 in the ring together growing up in Hampton Virginia. Many tag matches such as Ric Flair & Greg Valentine against Wahoo McDaniel & Rufus R. Jones which was my favorite of all time. It went an entire 60 minutes and was a blood bath by all 4. That was when wrestling was great back in the 1970's.
