Wow - I was there!  There was a big snowstorm earlier in the day.  Bruno was on the card, but could not make it due to the storm - maybe the hour-long Backlund match was due to Bruno's match having to be canceled.  I think he was supposed to go against Ivan Kolaff.

man wrestling has sure changed it has a more realistic look and feel and the events seem much bigger

Besides the Patterson Backland cage match, the best match I saw!!!

Gold! Thanks.

They wrestled to draws Many times over the years.

What a battle between two absolute warriors!  Sensible selling and great drama *without music, pyro, aerial, etc.( not that i dislike that))."   Textbook professional wrestling that stands the test of time.

Listen to the fans go crazy for Backlund!!! No music, lights or explosions, just wrestling. This match is better than ANYTHING WWE or AEW has produced over the past 10 years!

Fans remained engaged for nearly the hour long “ broadway “!

Great Match, but who the hell has that damn whistle!!!😂

Thank you. Iconic match !

Fans and jealous old school wrestlers have said Backlund “couldn’t draw” ! Idiots!!! 20,000 fans watching the man in the main event!

Wish wrestling was still like this. Today's wwe sucks

Man Ric Flair sure borrowed a thing or two from Greg Valentine

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤greatest  thanks brother 😅

Nice slow start. Smart!

Curious but I wonder how much weight they could have lost in an hour match like this ? lol 3-4 pounds maybe 🤔

Valentine and Flair fall down exactly the same way

Flair feared Backlund!!!

How they could make Bob Backlund the guy to replace Bruno is such a joke. Backlund was the most boring champion of all time. He had zero charisma or personality!! Rooted for him to lose every time he wrestled.
