A man accused of killing his partner with punches and violent blows to the head. During questioning at the Jury Court, he claimed he had only hit the victim's head against the wall once. But the injuries identified by forensics revealed a much more serious scenario.

The crime occurred in Vila Pinho, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, during a disagreement between the couple inside their home.

According to the prosecution by the Minas Gerais Public Prosecutor's Office (MPMG), the man brutally assaulted his partner, delivering several punches and repeatedly hitting her head against the wall. The victim suffered traumatic brain injury and died as a result of the assault.

What is striking about this trial is the version presented by the accused himself.

When questioned about how many times he had hit his partner's head against the wall, the defendant maintained that it only happened once.

However, forensic evidence pointed to several injuries to the victim's head, including a skull fracture. The prosecution also mentioned the use of a sledgehammer in the crime.

The discrepancy between the defendant's version of events and the evidence discussed in the trial became one of the most important points of the proceedings.

Before the jury, the circumstances of the death, the intensity of the aggression, and the defendant's criminal responsibility were analyzed.

The jury recognized that the homicide was committed for a trivial reason, with the use of cruel means, and in a context of domestic and family violence against a woman.

SENTENCE

The defendant was sentenced to 16 YEARS OF IMPRISONMENT for the consummated femicide of his partner.

The trial took place before the 1st Jury Court of the District of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.
