This is NOT doormat moms real son... 🫤 I'm sorry guys. I was informed on Twitter. Sorry I let you down!

This woman is seething with anger. I can feel her contempt through the screen. Her son, on the other hand, doesn't seem all that angry, just tired of her bullshit. I hope he has a peaceful, fulfilling life without her in it.

Any "prank" that involves parents making their children cry, filming it, and putting it on the internet is cruel. Full stop.

That poor little kid desperately sobbing and running around in an attempt to regulate the despair she’s feeling… How could anyone do that to a child, let alone their own daughter?

I cannot believe there were people laughing at that poor little girl so upset about the Elf. Except, I can believe it.   Cruel mother and her follower bullies.

Your adult child calling you by your first name is a way for them to establish that they are your equal.  It is only necessary when she has never treated you as an equal.

17:08 my stepfather took my door off the hinges when I was a teenager — because I would close the door and read. This had a huge impact on my sense of boundaries and self worth.

Something no one is mentioning...that mother in law LET HERSELF INTO THEIR HOUSE!!! All the red flags right there! How can anyone side with her after she went into their house WITHOUT PERMISSION! They need to put up boundaries now, that is scary behavior!

My oldest son is autistic.  This comes from when he was turning seven (he's 34 now). His brother was three, turning four.  He was still holding on to his belief in Santa, to the point of leaving directions to his grandmother's house where we were staying that Christmas Eve.  I was getting worried that his peer group would start the bullying over him still believing, so I wrote a letter from Santa explaining that there were so many new kids needing him that he was turning his Christmas Eve duties over to me.  He would always love and remember them, but I was "Santa" now.  I stamped and mailed it and made sure he was the one who got it out of the mailbox    .  He was fine with it (I think it may have given him a safe out here), and Christmas went on.  He remembers that letter fondly after all these years later.

The fact that any parent finds that elf on the shelf thing funny, is why I can't stand the majority of parents these days. That poor child was devastated, and these people sit there and laugh at his anguish! What kind of sadist does that?

I'm tearing up at the Elf on the Shelf part. That little girl thinks she's a murderer. Cruel

Entitled grandma is so wrong for 1) showing up uninvited 2) demanding to hold the newborn to the point of reaching into its mother’s arms and 3) not going away when told to. A baby is not communal property. Your kid’s house is not your house. Nobody has to be happy to see you nor acquiesce to your selfish demands.

To the mom who left chicken bones in place of the elf- Thank you for helping create a daughter who will struggle with remembering this situation every Christmas throughout her life. And if she's left to just sit with this emotional trauma she's likely to just stop wanting to do Christmas. Thank you for perpetuating the tradition of scarring children for the sake of self-gratification. /sarcasm

Everything about the Elf on the Shelf video was heartbreaking. I don't understand how some parents believe psychological torture and humiliation are an acceptable form of discipline, let alone acceptable for any reason? That poor baby, I just want to hug her and tell her she deserves better.

So happy that my dad installed the lock on my bedroom door because my mom would burst in, no knocking, no calling out, nothing.  Sometimes I'd be changing, or I'd have things laid out on the floor, and the door would slam into me.  I didn't even have a significant other.  Their was no one else in my room.

That little girl will never forget the elf on the shelf moment. I once wrote to Santa that I was a bad kid and didn't deserve presents. My parents read the letter and wrapped coal for me to open in the morning. They laughed as I cried. I will never forget that.

The way that MIL was leaning in and grabbing for the baby was extremely disturbing to watch. And the pleading mixed with passive aggression as well as total disregard for everyone else... makes my skin crawl. My own mother is a narcissist and is especially cruel to my SIL so I really felt for the young mother ❤

Also, that "Elf on the Shelf" mother is psychotic! WTH!!

The elf prank broke my heart. That girl is so traumatized. The video even said it was an accident, so why punish her in the first place?

Kids deserve privacy. Yes, when they're minors, they deserve to still have privacy. They need that safety so that when they become adults, they're secure. Adulthood doesn't happen all at once. Removing the door, in whatever fashion, is only going to teach your child that they can't trust you and need to sneak around instead of being safe in their own house. I saw it multiple times with my friends whose parents were like this; those kids just got sneaky and had deep issues with their parents as time went on. One of my best friends never felt like she could go to her parents with problems because she didn't trust them to be reasonable about it. I've seen it over and over. You're not "keeping your daughter safe" by destroying her door because she has a boy over. You're making her feel threatened and now she's going to hide everything from you, including when she encounters the wrong boy and he abuses her. Congratulations.

Please blur that little girl's face, she didn't ask to be put online. We can tell how distraught she is without seeing her.
