If there’s an unlabelled cream in my mate’s bathroom, even ignoring the rules of basic etiquette that prevent me from using someone else’s things without permission, I’m just not using that cream because I literally don’t know what it does??? It could be for dry skin, it could be for oily skin, it could be moisturiser, it could be face cream, it could be foot cream, it could be for hair, etc. Why did she slather it all over her body???

Second story: as someone who has pregnancy related trauma, I would be terrified of living with someone who's pregnant, but the friend blaming OP for that is absolutely insane. If anything I would be the one feeling like an asshole for not wanting to be around her.

On the first story - people like that girl are beyond reason :\ I had a roommate like that back in uni. I'm a native minority and had some traditional sweets in the fridge, joke is - you have to be a born native to safely eat those, it's the same thing like how cilantro and rye tastes differently for people with certain epigenes active. So when the new guy showed up, first thing I did was warned him to not to eat the stuff in the red container and that it can be dangerous for him if he doesn't have native roots.
Guess what that bum did? He waited for me to leave for the day, got into the fridge and took a HUGE BITE out of my brick of patasa (it's sort of like a soft caramel with herbs, mushrooms, lichen and nuts mixed in). So naturally I returned to the glorious chorus of sirens and cops swarming the building -_\ The symptoms you get from eating patasa if you don't have specific ferment in your system to break it down kinda look like substances overdose, so ...yeah. That was a chaotic evening.
And of course the guy blamed ME. Despite again, telling him NOT to eat my stuff was the first thing I did. Threw one heck of a tantrum when he got back from ER. Medical care is free here, so no, the only thing lost here was time. And my patasa (cops confiscated the whole brick :( )

For all the friend knew, the cream in the bathroom could have been nitroglycerin ointment, which is used for cardiac chest pain and super dangerous to take if you are not prescribed it as it can cause severe low blood pressure and other life-threatening complications, especially if you use more than the prescribed dose. I would hope that the nitro cream would be stored in a marked tube but idk if that would have stopped OP's friend.

one dose of t gel is basically a can of monster and some adrenalin. no dire consequences

Was really hoping there would be comments explaining that THAT is not gentle parenting and as someone who is gentle parenting my daughter it is beyond frustrating when people misunderstand it. It get it. The name is bad, it shouldn’t be called gentle parenting because it sends the wrong message. The parenting described in the post I would call being a neglectful parent.

The friend will be fineeee. High doses of T will naturally convert into estrogen. :P She might be a little moody but thats it. It literally takes months before any actual permanent changes happen.

-Ive been on T for ~10 years & I researched sex hormones diligently before starting and post as new info comes out.

There was an identical story about a guy with green hair dye in his shampoo who told his visiting friend to use anything but that shampoo, and then she used it because she thought it was fancy and got mad at him.
I'm wondering if these are fake stories, made up as a way to generate Reddit content. I see ads for Reddit ghostwriters on freelance sites all the time, and this falls into kind of a ragebait category they really cater to.

With #7 way to many people confuse gentle parenting with permissive parenting. Gentle parenting still requires discipline and fair consequences for bad actions. It just doesn't allow punishment whether it be physical, emotional, or psychological. Permissive parenting (which is pretty much refusal to discipline/parent your children and excuse their behavior) is what people tend to see and contribute to the negative stigma of Gentle parenting.

As someone who has been on T, I think something interesting to know is testosterone has a very long half life (how long it stays in your system) and can take 3 - 6 months to fully leave your system. However I think more importantly she used the medication op can no longer use. Testosterone is a restricted drug in most areas and cannot be distributed before a certain date. The friend essentially threw out a few days of prescription medication that op will have to go without later in the month. Neither of them will be severely effected hormonally long term however if a friend stole and withheld someone's hrt for a few days it would be treated way more seriously than "ohh oopsiee"

There is a difference between using external cheats to get an unfair advantage and using a mechanic that's in the game to just be a nuisance because it's funny.
Totally different!

@chichirocket 1 month ago

Man... there's a difference between gentle parenting and whatever the hell this is. My sister and BIL do gentle parenting with my nephew, and he's awesome.

IT'S NOT ONE DOSE, ITS ALL OVER HER BODY, ITS LIKE 15 DOSES

On the videogame story: it’s totally ok to cheat in videogames. HOWEVER, only when it doesn’t affect others. Ex: it’s ok to use motherload playing alone in the sims if the reason you play is for the building aspect, not the simulator indeed, and you just want to build crazy gourgeous houses! You are playing Minecraft alone and you want to keep inventory? Ok! Want mods on your single player Stardew farm? Ok. But it’s a problem when it creates a disadvantage for other people. Does it make sense?

4:24 you need to remember that testosterone is a Steroid — you absolutely can overdose and have super negative effects from it, especially if you have heart issues and the like, even skin absorption isn’t going to necessarily protect you from that as the gel is dosed to be absorbed effectively

@dreary_giraffe 1 month ago

the worst part about that first story is that, at least in America, T is a controlled substance. you can't get it refilled until your prescription restocks, and at least in my experience, missing even a single day of T gel can be enough to screw up your hormone level. if I miss even a single day, my period is coming back next month. to be depleted of a huge amount of it like that is terrible, can't imagine.

#15: this reminds me the post about the OP saying their friend not to use a specific shampoo/conditioner, the friend used it becouse she was specifically told not to(she thought it was an expensive one) but she ended up with green hair and blame it on the OP.
If someone tells you "not this one" and you decide to not respect them, the consecuences are not their fault.

@The_Rainbow_Llamacorn 1 month ago

Story 1: The woman stole prescription medication. That's why OP should call the police. Also, having a police case number can help with getting an early refill.

@katphish30 1 month ago

I don't know who needs to hear this, but THAT IS NOT GENTLE PARENTING. THAT IS PERMISSIVE PARENTING. THEY ARE NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT THE SAME. STOP FUCKING MIXING THEM UP.

@rsmith6425 1 month ago

30:20 yeah, I feel like as the parent it is your responsibility to make sure that your kid wasn't spying on someone or doing anything inappropriate and then just letting it go.
