When i worked at a salon, i accidentally called a customer named siobhan "see oh bahn" cuz i had never seen that name written down before and the lady was very annoyed when she corrected me😅😭 i felt bad but also the spelling makes no sense in american english so like how would i know if ive never seen the word before

the guy quotes stuff on her dating profile there’s wasn’t a way he didn’t see “no kids” he just believed he would change her mind on the idea of kids 💔

I went on a date with a perfect guy- just amazing! But he disclosed he CANT and doesn’t WANT kids. Which was a shame bc I want them! He’s a good friend nowadays, so not a complete loss

I think “Bonnie Anne” will be subtle enough for most kids not to clock. But yeah, look up Anne Bonny!

If I had two Irish baby girls, I would name them Siobhán and Sinéad 😁

@meg..meg. 6 days ago

Siobhan being mispronounced throughout this video is a proof the name isn't 100% clearly pronounced

Bonnie Anne is only going to be clockable by pirate hobbyists, Anne Bonny is just not a name you learn from a school curriculum. S1 husband sounds a delight, I wish them all good nights of sleep ahead 🥰

I love parents that take into account how other people will say their kids' names and are careful with choosing them. As a substitute teacher, I always apologize before doing attendance and tell the kids to correct me if I say their name wrong because I want to make the effort to call students what they want to be called. However, the amount of tradgiedgh names I have seen is astounding. As someone with a "uniquely" spelled name myself, I know how it feels for no one to say your name correctly the first time. To the point I just go by my nickname usually.

31:38 you can just call them misogynists.

1st story, I've worked in multiple US schools. My family is half white, half indigenous mexican. I have ZERO problems with MOST Irish or Scottish names. I literally just look them up online if I've never encountered them before, or ask the kid with the name for a correct pronunciation (some names, regardless of language, have different pronunciations for nicknames even if the nickname appears similar). It ain't hard to be respectful, it just takes being willing to not be a lazy asshole.

5:05 Ok, here's the thing, the name Siobhan is LITERALLY in the top 1000 most popular baby names (I play quizzes and write stories). It's a name I knew growing up, no problem, no bullying. Part of the issue is the conflation of cultural/ethnic names and tragedeigh names, there's a difference between Giuliana and Gyulyanna, ya know?

When I was dating-kids are close to the first conversation. I am one and done. But there are men out there that think me saying no to kids is a challenge and they think they can change my mind. So, I see what the guy was trying to do there.

My mom also chose a non usamerican name that is just a touch too close to a common name, and I went through a lot of grief growing up of dealing with mispronouncing it. Mostly from adults, specifically teachers who thought they "knew better". One teacher in highschool was particularly belligerent. I like my name ngl, it's fun, but yeah, def don't go with something you think is a guaranteed bully bait

God, the third story fiance got me like that one higuruma gif. I agree with the open communication thing, but there is no communicating with that... thing

Idek what reality is anymore man...

06:30 no sarby. You just have zero interest in the most basic pirate, naval, or trans-atlantic history. And that's okay! But it IS very basic, and I literally have to deselect individual episodes of almost every history podcast I listen to, because I rarely ever hear a single thing that I haven't heard before.
