Wedding between two women who both had a mutual ex. Mutual ex showed up as a plus-one, staggered drunkenly up to the stage, grabbed the mic, and yelled slurred insults at them until a bridesmaid physically grabbed her.

Edit: Just remembered the wedding my mom was supposed to attend where the groom went skydiving for his bachelor party. Something went wrong and he got horribly injured. He tried going to the wedding as planned so she wouldn't find out, but was so silly from the painkillers that the officiant didn't feel comfortable marrying them.

I am stressy messy about my wedding in 6.5 weeks. However, I find the worst case scenarios make me feel better. They're unlikely to happen!

Let’s see, for my MIL who ran a wedding catering company for a nano second in the 80’s, there was a bride who insisted on royal icing for her wedding cake.  For those who don’t know, royal icing is what they use to CONSTRUCT gingerbread houses.  It’s basically sugary concrete.  They told her she wouldn’t be able to cut it, that it would only be decorative.  Come time for cake cutting at the reception, the bride went to cut the cake.  They basically had to hack it to pieces.

For my wedding, it was a toss up between hubby’s permanently friend zoned friend audibly sobbing through our vows and my junior bridesmaid niece locking her knees, fainting, and taking out half the front row.

Fun times.

It was still the best day of our lives, 42 years and five kids later.

My photographer got into a car crash on the way to my house (everyone was fine, just a fender bender, but it made everything 45 mins behind) and one of our friends sat on a candle during cocktail hour and caught on fire. It was still a perfect day because now we have the best stories to tell! 😅❤

The caterpillars are a bug AND a feature.

I do love the slowest horse story, just because of how you tell it, though I do have sympathy! Also, I think my favorite part was "the Jewish hootin' and hollerin' dance."

I'm a uni student in my final year of undergrad- for some weird reason I've developed an utter fascination with weddings despite the fact that I'm not planning on getting married whatsoever. Your channel is a literal gold mine!! I have been gorging on content for weeks and I will continue to do so until I do eventually have a wedding!!

As a day of coordinator, for the third wedding I coordinated, the dj announced the father/daughter dance and the father was nowhere to be found! He and the bride’s mother were living separately and had gotten into an argument post-ceremony. He left the venue without telling anyone. The bride instantly burst into tears upon the realization. We waited 30 minutes for him to come back, which he finally did after a coaching from the groom’s father.

Also, it was a standing room only reception that served hors d’ouvres. The guests were not informed of this, and the reception happened at dinner time. Also, there were 14 speeches and the bride did not want to give them time limits, so the speeches lasted a really long time. Guests started sitting on the concrete floors.

Also there were no animals allowed and the bride brought her emotional support dog that I didn’t know existed until that day. The dog was in a back room barking the whole time, and you could hear it during the long speeches.

That one story ending with "sorry about your tables, though" was so shady 😂😂

You should consider making a video on what choices to make when planning a wedding for maximum resiliency. That is, specific decisions that are forgiving of mistakes.

I got married a couple weeks ago, your videos convinced me to get a wedding coordinator, and THANK GOD I did. I went into an acute autoimmune flare before the event, was so exhausted I couldn’t even stand to wash my own hair, my best friend from college had to wash my hair for me, BUT the day went PERFECTLY. No one asked me a single question except if I needed a snack or drink, I had time to rest between events, and everyone said they had a great time. I am so happy I didn’t have to run the event day of.

My husband was a groomsman, they took photos before the wedding and had an open bar for the wedding party while the photos were going on.  Husband and bride and groom were only ones not drunk.  Groomsmen were visibly nudging one another and laughing at the altar.  One bridesmaid was so drunk that after staggering up the aisle she sat down on the platform.   Bridesmaid dresses were cut so low in the back that we could see all of their tramp stamps.  Same wedding, DJ was rude to my then 5 year old son who had a song request.  He could have said he wasn't playing anything not on brides list or that he didn't take requests (although he did).  Instead he said he wouldn't take requests from a kid (the song was appropriate and a currently popular pop song).  Bride and groom spent a lot of money on the wedding -- centerpieces were over 6 feet tall and at least 2 feet wide.  I have no idea who was at the table for 8 with us.  Vodka slide was a BAD idea.  Now add drunk wedding guests.  It was at a hotel.  There was a fire during the reception (turned out to be in one of the rooms).  Of the 150 plus people at the wedding, only my son and I left the building when the fire alarm went off.  The drunk wedding guests all stayed and the DJ turned up the music.  My husband even pooh-poohed me and said it was probably a false alarm.  There were maybe 30 people out under the overhang with my son and I, all just regular hotel guests.  So its safe to say, had we been on the Titanic, at least my son and I would have gotten on a life boat.

For my wedding, there were 3ish things that went wrong.
--A few days before my wedding, the church contacted us telling us that the reception hall's AC went out and wouldn't be repaired in time for the wedding. Thankfully, since it was November, it was cold outside (well cold for Texas anyway), so we just left the reception halls doors open to let in the cold air. Which worked out pretty well.

--One of my bridesmaids was supposed to get her dress hemmed before the wedding but kept forgetting. Thankfully my mom is an excellent seamstress and said that she could hem it for her if she brought it to the dress rehearsal (which would have given my mom plenty of time to work on it that night). I messaged said bridesmaid to bring the dress on the day of the dress rehearsal, but she didn't see the message and forgot. So, she had to bring the dress the day of the wedding and my mom had to work overtime to get it hemmed. Ended up causing the ceremony to be delayed by about 30 minutes (everyone was ready and was just waiting for the dress to be finished).

--Unbeknownst to me and my husband, my brothers had to act as mafia agents/security guards for my MOH. Apparently, MOH's boyfriend had found out that she had been texting some of her guy friends (in a friends just talking kind of way, not hooking up kind of way) and got really mad. To the point where he had backed her into a corner (in a hallway outside the reception hall) and started yelling at her. My brothers noticed and watched as he forced her to go outside (this started happening when my husband and I were wrapping up pictures, and right as he started to force her outside was when we came into the hall, so my brothers could only watch as it happened and wait until we were in the reception hall to follow). They proceeded to stealthily follow them outside as he continued to yell at her and drag her over to the street corner; neither of them noticing my brothers following (MOH was looking down and boyfriend was too busy yelling to look behind him). When they did get to the street corner, MOH looked up and was surprised to see my brothers, and that's when the boyfriend finally turned around to see 4 large men in suits staring him down. Boyfriend went as white as a ghost and then walked off. My brothers went and rescued my MOH who was quite shaken up about the whole thing, but she didn't want to ruin the wedding (she hadn't done her toast yet), so she (and my brothers) didn't tell us about it until later. After the wedding, MOH broke up with the boyfriend.

Yup, I own a catering business and can confirm, if we have one extremely celiac guest, we usually just go gluten-free with everything. It's way easier for us, and the person can just eat anything. Win-win.

But we disclose that information, otherwise, what's the point?

My niece is getting married this Saturday at my farm. The stage is set for this absolute sh#$ show of an event with the Grooms family all flying in from Florida including the brother of the groom who was arrested a few years back for attempted unaliving of mother of the groom, alcoholic cousins and the rest of the backwoods family. Our side is uppity and despondent, including parents of the bride, my brother and sil, who have done NOTHING for this day. My brother is also known for seriously inappropriate behavior and speech. I agreed to plan the event which was going to be classic garden/farm wedding but have been trumped by MOG who has brought in the most ridiculous decorations….neon colored paper flowers which will cover my already beautiful willow tree, orange lace table runners with green crochet place mats, pine cones and terracotta pots. I already ordered late summer flowers of roses, zinnia, freesia, foxgloves, eucalyptus…etc so they do not go with any of this. I’ve given up and will just enjoy the show.  I love my niece but she is not even type B, more like type C. I can’t wait to see how this goes.

The best man used his toast to proclaim his love for the groom.

I had food poisoning for the 24 hours before my wedding. I had gone out for lunch with my dad and aunt before our rehearsal and ordered salmon. I was the only one who ordered salmon and was the only one who got sick. I was nauseous at our rehearsal dinner and was in and out of the bathroom for the evening and was late to the ceremony because I was still feeling sick. Thankfully adrenaline got me through the day, but we had to stop at a pharmacy on the way to our hotel that evening 😬

Two major things went wrong at my wedding: My pregnant bridesmaid had to go to the hospital and my dad passed out right before the ceremony.
One of my bridesmaids, who was 7 months pregnant at the time, and was considered high-risk, had to leave while we were getting ready because her blood pressure got REALLY high and she felt sick, so her and her husband (who was the best man) had to rush to the hospital. Her and the baby were fine, and though she had to stay behind, the best man did make it in time for the ceremony, and left after his speech, to be there for his wife.
With my dad, I had no idea about he passed out until the next day, because no one wanted me to worry. He is not in great health, and it was a hot day, and he legitimately went unconscious for a minutes in the hot sun. I could tell something happened, because people started acting weird, but I was hidden inside so I didn't see anything. I also just kinda assumed it was something with my husbands grandma, who is a huge attention seeker, and known for "falling" at relatives weddings (she admits that its fake afterwards). She didn't do that, but she did try to interrupt our first dance to complain about our wedding cake, and then proceeded to hate on everything the whole time. Also, my dad is okay, but people were on the edge of their seats during our father-daughter dance, and again, I had no idea at the time.

Video Idea: going through the r/weddingplanning subreddit…as a bride I’m there often for advice and solidarity and some of the stories and situations on there are definitely in need of a Jamie😬

My grandad who had mild dementia at the time very sweetly came up to congratulate us at the reception and left a handprint of chocolate on my dress sleeve, my cousin got super drunk and gave some random hotel employee an ear full because the food was bad i had to walk over and pull him away and my husbands co worker got very drunk and he tried to start a physical fight with one of the other guests who was a lady but also played rugby and probably would have kicked him around if my husband didnt step in. we also had to spend half an hour fixing the seating arrangement because the hotel had totally messed it up. Good day though
