Which movie is your all-time favorite, and what do you love about it?

My brothers give me crap for owning physical media. Doesn't stop them from asking every couple months if I have something they can't stream. And yes, I always have it.

I got burnt out doom scrolling with nothing worth watching. Ended up canceling all my subscriptions recently and started buying blu-ray and UHD disc's of my favorites. A few every paycheck or a box set of a show I like. So much better than streaming. I can go to my shelf, easily find something worth watching and am not wasting so much money.

As AI slop begins to fully consume YouTube, this is the kind of content I'm shifting towards enjoying. Someone passionate about a subject making a video in their basement just talking for 30 minutes. Thank you so much, from a fellow VHS fan

I'm going to start collecting dvds again, the sheer joy of choosing a movie to watch by yourself is an absolute privilege!

Another reason to own - creeping censorship.  I was going to buy the Blu-ray box set of 30 Rock, but apparently, a couple of episodes had footage cut out because suddenly some of the humour was considered inappropriate.

Netflix was so good when it started. It was a great solution vs piracy..

I haven't streamed a movie over 5 years, I prefer getting the physical copy

Once 2025 rolled in I decided to collect Physical Media and have my own Library. Whether it be be movies and tv shows on DVD or Music on CDs. Might not be a popular decision, but it's my decision.

I physically collect everything, dvds, Blu-ray, vhs, games, and music. Take that Klaus Shwab

I formed a "my list" on netflix of my fav films about 5 years ago, and 95% of it was removed by netflix after they lost the rights

Been collecting DVDs for 25 years now. Never switched to streaming as I reject the ''own nothing and be happy'' propaganda. I love having a movie library catered solely to me. No patronizing trigger warnings, no censorship, no fear a film or TV show will vanish over night.

I started collecting last year, mostly because I wanted to share childhood favorites with my kid, and trying to find what I was looking for spread out across all the services while they hiked up the prices was just not worth the hassle. Cancelled my Disney/Hulu subscription in February and for the rest of the year spent the $25/month I saved on physical media instead. It's really changed my approach toward consuming media in general, and I feel like it's worth it in so many less tangible ways as well.

My family relentlessly pokes fun of my DVD & Blu-Ray collection. Phooey!

Great video, mate. LONG LIVE PHYSICAL MEDIA!!!

My friend I have close to 1500 films and I could tell you a story for each one of them and why I have them in my collection I truly believe when you look at somebody's movie collection or CD collection or book collection it tells you a lot about who that person is. And those colorful stories that we can add to those titles and why they mean so much to me what a great subject.

"The Terminator" is my all time favorite action movie.  I have this movie in VHS, DVD, Blu ray, and now in 4K with Dolby Atmos!  Saw it in the theater when it first came out and I was BLOWN away at the robot Arnold!  It was a movie ahead of its time.  I will NEVER stop buying physical media.  Its mine.  No buffering or dropped Wi-Fi.  AND, I'm not dependent on streaming services to play what I want to watch.  if a streaming service loses its license to play a movie, they drop it from their service; at least I have my copies to watch whenever I want.  I love hearing you tell your memories.....

dude your 100% right
i will never forget when the office was removed from netflix. that was when i started buying back physicals

Part of the fun is looking at DVDs at thrift stores and looking for great deals and sometimes they are in their original packaging. It's more fun than buying a new DVD although I will buy online if I get a good deal and/or for movies you will never find at a thrift store (most if not all foreign films)

I never bought as many blurays and 4k blurays as i do now. I cant stand streaming. I buy about 4 movies a week currently. My favorite 4k is 2001 a space odyssey as it totally blew me away in the way it looks. I still have my VHS tapes too.
