The part where Cash stands up at the trial and says, "My partner has spoken very eloquently, and I wish I could be as forgiving, but this whole thing...fucking sucks!" has basically been in my working lexicon for the past 3 decades.
I just can't get over the fact that Stallone was a sophisticated intellectual type in this movie. He looks like if Rambo started a career in investment banking. Talk about going against type casting
Could never get over the fact that Stallone himself utters the line "Rambo... is a pussy" in the beginning scene. Always a classic old-school action movie!
As a kid, I loved every Stallone and Kurt Russell movie that was shown on TV. When I saw them together in one movie, I got unbelievably excited and it was a buddy cop movie no less. I wasn't asking for too much and I got more, it was like they were spoiling me. I understand it is a flawed movie, but I was never going to look for an intricate plot in a movie when I was a kid.
It’s interesting Stallone was cast as the classy guy considering he came up as the blue collar hero while Russell has been a movie star since childhood.
I always loved Tango and Cash, silly as it may be. Enough to be bummed out that Stalone and Russell didn't share a single scene together in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Military tactical radios could actually be tuned to pick up broadcast TV frequencies (when they were analog before going digital). I remember laying in a foxhole during training in NY in 1995 and listening to this movie on the radio because it was playing on NBC that night!

The buddy cop genre isn't exactly a rare thing, but Tango and Cash is one example that doesn't get enough love these days.
