Jungwon received a lot of hate for this from delusional Heeseung fans mostly on X saying that Wonies comment about never having thought of a solo career was him directly throwing shade on Hee. He coped a lot of hate which is crazy because he was speaking sincerely from his own heart. I hate how those type of “fans” (And I use the word loosely) twist everything around to make it about Hee. Wonie is a kind person.

17:50 That's part of it.
Context is Koreans were angry with MNET for rigging the votes in Produce 101 with X1. Enhypen was a casualty to this controversy because Koreans then boycotted MNET's next survival show, I-LAND. At a press conference for Enhypen's debut showcase, a reporter questioned Enhypen on the low viewership ratings of I-LAND being close to 0% in Korea, asking if they had any regrets. Jungwon answered that they received messages of support from global viewers and were grateful.

Belift made several attempts to break into Korea's market. And gave their last real attempt with XO in July 2024. After that, Belift appeared to have given up promoting Enhypen in Korea altogether. Instead, they shifted their focus to prioritize growing the global fanbase, with constant travels and tours outside Korea.

Though, as of recent, Enhypen are finally starting to gain recognition in Korea 🥹

Jungwon became a leader at 16 years old. He was the youngest leader to debut in K-pop industry at that time and he hold that title for about four years straight if he still hasn't.  plus one thing that I really love about ENHYPEN from the very start is that even though they're young, they know each other boundaries very well. They never try to act like you know, touchy touchy, or extremely into each other from the very beginning. It's more like a journey of them getting to know each other and we grow together with them. I think we also owe the company a little bit too for their bad promotion/marketing or whatever because they didn't push enha with the typical K-pop ships things for entertainment. Some of them indeed know each other before the iland audition program though. For example, Jungwon himself was a big head trainee together with members like Jay and Sunghoon. And even members like Jake, Sunoo and Ni-Ki, they are not trying to be one group, but they do know each other even though they aren't allowed to talk to each other during the training. So only after the debut lineup was decided the team bond was getting a chance to grow. That's what he is talking about.

Jungwon is such a great leader 🥹
Love him so much ❤
Thank you for the reaction! 🙇‍♀️

I won’t lie when the episode first aired I cried a little when he started talking about the team and his members.. they filmed this right before the start of blood saga in Seoul not even 2 months after Hs left ❤️‍🩹

yep most informal show i've seen with kpop idols, looking forward to i-land!!

yay thanks! Would love for u to watch more recent variety stuff to see all their personalities

42:59 I-LAND is a hardship they don't appear to like discussing in public or watch back themselves. Personally I found the show riveting but mentally brutal & it's not a format that would be allowed where I'm from considering some of their ages & the conditions/rules at the time - NI-KI was the second youngest at 14.5 yo and JUNGWON 16.5 yo (international age system). Members & other participants have let things slip over the years that make it sound even worse than the edited on-air version (which was a tough watch sometimes). But the members also acknowledge there would not be an ENHYPEN without the show - it's a sharp double-edged sword for them!

Jungwon is extremely humble. I'm rooting for the members who got each other's back. their bonds also seem stronger than ever. I love it for them.
The way he perceive his team/his people reminds me of the way BTS' V perceive his team specifically. I mean, all BTS members are team oriented guys, but even among them there is like a little difference between each other, right? Jungwon specifically reminds me of the way V talks about BTS.

40:13 the northern Aurora is spectacular. JUNGWON went to Iceland in February 2026 & only for a week including the long travel time there & back. I saw the aurora for 4 nights in mid-March 2025 over a 2 week period in the arctic north of Norway. It's all weather dependent - clear dark skies are needed. There are more clouds from Nov- Feb so they can be amazing but hidden behind clouds.

YeopDdeok is ddeokbokki franchise brand. It is ddeokbokki.
18:07 The reason why Enhypen is less known in Korea... K-pop, especially male idols, mainly focuses on fandom streaming. One reason is that Korean music streamed by the public is far from male idols. However, ENHYPEN, even among male idol groups, had an experimental and narrative-driven worldview rather than a mainstream concept, which likely hindered the public's easy acquisition. This is just my personal opinion as a Korean, and there may be a deeper context and story to tell. The content can deepen.
However, precisely after this content, Enhypen's Korean career has been steadily increasing, and they have also achieved a career high in Korea. Their songs have started to be heard in cafes and supermarkets on the streets these days. Something unusual is happening.

No entendí nada de lo que dijiste pero me gustó tu reacción

Ohh Skitten, it was so hard to watch this interview again. It was filmed only two months after the announcement of Hee’s departure, and it carries a lot of weight. Even though it was funny, some really deep topics were brought up during a period when the boys were struggling emotionally. If you pay close attention, you can even see Jungwon holding back tears at some moments, like around 48:35 and 49:30 in your video. But since it was you, I made sure to watch it, even though I was literally crying through almost the entire video 😅💜

Jungwon is the best leader ever! He can be direct and speak his mind, carries an enormous responsibility on his shoulders, and has such a strong presence as a leader that he can even be intimidating, but at the same time, he’s incredibly kind, humble, and respectful with his words, as well as being funny and cute. And he knows his members better than anyone!

Well, the seven of them are a family, not just friends. They’ve always talked about each other that way themselves. And I’m sure Jungwon was including Heeseung when he referred to the members and the six years they spent together. But part of the fandom twisted his words in this interview to make it seem like he was throwing shade at Heeseung.

The fandom is completely divided into different sides, so whenever you want, I can explain the situation better to you.

So, because of this interview, one part of the fandom sent a lot of hate Jungwon’s way, while another part sent so, so much hate toward Heeseung.

What Belift and HYBE did by separating them was incredibly cruel, and it still affects them to this day. It’s all very difficult.

If whoever recommended this interview recommended it simply as fun content, they’re probably from the part of the fandom that hates Heeseung.

But even so, I’m glad I watched it with you, because I think it’s important for you, as an Engene, to know and understand everything about the boys, even the more sensitive topics.
