Alternative title "upset fanboy gets mad over movies for 31 minutes."

i just don’t understand why, in the first flash movie when we know nothing about the character, they would do FLASHPOINT

please drink some water

"It was me Barry..."

The time travel in the flash movie is confusing because they setup this spaghetti rule to put Michael Keaton into the movie, then proceed to break the rule in the climax.

9:18 I will: They literally teased Arrow's dad becoming the alternate Arrow in season 2 of the Flash with a news report on earth 2. Flashpoint is the story that gave us Batman's dad becoming alternate Batman. CW Arrow is literally Green Arrow LARPing as Batman (still love the first few seasons though). The foundation was laid but nothing was built atop it.

To be fair to the CW, they had just done the Flash regaining his powers the previous season when Zoom stole them. There was also the one-off episode in season one when the meta drained Barry's powers and he lost them for an episode

You aren’t wrong about the CW rendition having inconsistent logic for when someone disappears from the timeline.

I hate to admit it because I was never huge on the SynderVerse, but I always believed that everything Zack put into place in his universe would have made for a perfect adaptation of the actual Flashpoint Paradox story. Had they just done a live action version of the actual comic or animated movie, we would have had one peak ass movie.

cw Barry" Im the fastest man alive". 5 minutes later "He's faster than me." said cw Barry. I have personal beef with that show. So many times, the solution was just run faster, after running slower than you did last week for no reason during the entire episode. Live action always makes Barry, incredibly stupid.

0:50 It’s not stupid. It what these heroes were created for. I think it’s amazing the flash has impacted you in such a way. Stay healthy and keep being the flash bro.

That moment when Batman and Superman have more screen time than the title character

11:03, in Rival's defense, Reverse Flash, Kid Flash, and Professor Zoom aren't clever names either

My biggest problem with Flashpoint is that it's been adapted so much.  There've been about 50 years of Barry Allen Stories (introduced in 1956, minus about 20 years when he was dead), and Flashpoint is far from the best of them.

4:17 Completely agree with you that it is for the better that the movie fleshes it all out in one sitting, but I think you might be happy to know the backgrounds of the major players (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Thomas Wayne Batman, even plain old pilot Hal Jordan) were all fleshed out heavily in tie-in comics that ran concurrently with the main Flashpoint series, and the readers were able to see those in full. Again, no disagreement with your points, just wanted to alert you to some fun comics out there that might increase your enjoyment.

That was a flawless quick breakdown of iris talking in Barry's ears and all the mush.  It does happen dad too much.  Even Oliver says it in a crossover episode😂

22:17 "the light of speed" is probably funnier than the movie

24:38 Imagine if they had made Keaton be Thomas Wayne. Fans of the Flash would already be used to this - John Wesley Shipp having played Barry in the 90s show and Barry's dad in the CW show (as well as Jay and reprising his role as Barry from the universe of the 90s show). It wouldn't have saved the movie but it would have been such an improvement.

I know they couldn't do this because then we wouldn't have gotten the Batgirl movie with him. Oh, wait...

I honestly hate The Flashpoint Paradox, because it has the underlying message that heroes MUST suffer and can't have any joy.

To be fair to the cw show I think there were a lot of studio mandates that affected its ability to do Flashpoint justice. Like it had to end before the crossover which is usually before the mid-season break. They were also limited by the fact that the other shows existed and wouldnt do Flashpoint arcs. Would I have loved for arrow to spend some time in Flashpoint? Yes. Was there ever a chance of it happening? No.

Also just as a side note, unless it takes place during season one I think matt letscher should always play thane. While Tom was great in the role I think matt was perfect in it.
