What other rules do people constantly play wrong?

The issue with the flash gitz and dakka rig example is that it's on your opponent to know their own unit to not make the mistake that is favourable to them

Declaring "taking to the skies" before rolling advance is something I defenitly did not know. Im a noob I played like 7 games this year, but I learned something today!

Very clear and concise explanations. Thank you. I haven't played since 7th ed, and am trying to get back into the game. This video was quite helpful. I'll be checking out your others. Thanks!

Wow, some serious "that guy" techniques, but i'm still gonna use it

You have a great channel and presentation. I think one of the reasons that simple rules mistakes happen so often is that edition turnover is relatively quick. People are learning new editions every three years, and even when specific rules do not change they don't have the mental space to really memorize things because they have been conditioned to expect change again in a relatively short time frame. 11th edition is my favourite so far, I hope for 12th we don't get new rules - just a proper rulebook that actually has all the rules instead of telling people to look at the app along with an included FAQ. Slowing the pace might afford people the chance to commit rules to memory.

You are quickly becoming one of my favorite Warhammer channels!

Awesome video. The quality is so good. Sometimes I have the impression that a lot of rule complexity comes from the "I go you go"-system.

I always appreciate the videos. Warhammer is a complicated game and your videos help a new player like myself!

Yup i did the big dakka rig a few overwatches and was like holy cow this is insane so i re-read the rule and noticed whoops. I love that you are calling this out ESPECIALLY the per model LoS . My friends just dont get it its per model and play lazy. Thank you!

Its just so much extra rules bloat at the start with checking mission rules AND draws that these abilities just get glanced for the benefit. I will be double checking mine more often now !

The dakka rig trick also doesn’t work the way you mentioned because you can’t crit while snap shooting. Glad I finally learned that.

Great guy

These are so helpful. My mistake usually is just accepting whatever my opponent tells me. I feel like I am being rude if I look up their rules to confirm they are playing these kinds of things right.
I've also never seen anyone declare take to skies before a charge.

I was playing against a newer tau player the other day. Timing on the guide choosing is super strict.

The situation came up where he wanted to shoot my transport then guide then marker light the units inside. We played it wrong because I wasn't reading through their rules, to confirm timing.

You have to choose all your units that are going to guide at the START of shooting. But actually performing the guide can be done at any time during the shooting phase. So had we done it correctly, they could have declared a unit to be guiding and wait for the vehicle to pop. But that does require careful planning and if the shooting doesn't go your way, might end up with units guiding nothing and simply losing out on +1 to hit, ignores cover and lethals (Detachment rule).

BattleBase app helps with a lot of timing, as it only shows strats and mission scoring at the correct moments of the turn.

Great stuff as always :) Thanks a lot for the content!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS we are back

Very insightful video! Sometimes I misread rules or skim read, and that's on me, but i'm trying not to take too long with my turn 😅 i'll try to learn rules in detail before games!

Mistake 1 I'm almost positive I've made a bunch, but we're pretty good about double checking what phases our abilities are allowed to trigger

All my tanks have 12 inch order range so i assumed my baneblade commander would also have 12 inches to his order when given the enhancement. Recently found out its actually 6 because he does not have the ability all the other tank commanders do for 12 inches :')
