Why The "Worst" Halloween Is Actually The Best | SCARED OF SEQUELS

Making Media Matter

Excited today to talk about one of my favorite directors ever, Rob Zombie, and his Halloween remake franchise.

I know Zombie's handling of the Halloween franchise is pretty controversial, and people have their feelings about what he did with the series, but for me, there's something special in the Rob Zombie films.

Specifically, I think his version of Halloween II is nothing short of a masterpiece, so here's me arguing that for half an hour. Lol.

Aight so hopefully this isn't too weird but before you came back I was low key depressed asf. Crazy shit going on in life. But idk seeing you back in a seemingly bigger way than ever has me feeling a bit boosted, ya know like motivated to get back into my hobbies. Started writing and playing guitar again last week. So yeah, thank you for idk, living I guess? You're a big inspo💚

Finally found my people who share the same energy for rob zombies halloween remakes!
I love both of them so much, literally changed my perception on how gritty, raw and dirty slashers can really be.

I love Rob Zombie's Halloween II as well. Halloween Ends should've taken notes on how to make a hard left in this franchise.

Anyone who holds either of the RZ halloweens in high regard has elite taste to me. They are so misunderstood, and often are only considered bad because of their differences to the original, which is an obvious pitfall of making a remake instead of just making a whole new story.

I think the biggest reason we all love the original Halloween so much is just that its tied to our favorite holiday. You are completely right about it and right about why people might love it, the score, atmosphere, etc but I think the biggest reason is just that Michael is basically the holidays mascot and the score is the score of the holiday at this point. Yes those other movies maybe better but the original Halloween is a yearly tradition so it’s remembered more fondly.

It's perfectly fine that this is your fav H movie. That's not what I subscribed for. I subbed for you and your output, it is really what makes you stand out!
Edit: that's insane that you grew/lived up there!
