This man has made watching paint dry a wonderful experience.

We need more old boys showing us how stuff is done properly 👍

The internet is full of well meaning speculation and self-hype. All I have wanted, for a long time now, is an old lad to show me the right way and impart the wisdom of a lifetime in the trade in a steady, confident voice without any nonsense. My sincere thanks.

This video is most welcome. My father was trained as a coach painter, and I never bothered to learn from him because it didn't occur to me that it was a dying art. This video will help me to regain some of what I lost. Thank you.

Age 14 and a bit, me dad got me a temporary job sanding down (wet&dry, plus bucket of cold water, only one sheet per day!) during school holidays. Coach painter came in on Fridays, big round-headed brush and enamel paint in a metal paint carrier. Proceeds to paint entire van with brush, roof first! When finished, not a BRUSH-STROKE to be seen! On Monday, the sign-writer came in, even more impressive, just presses his left hand (extended arm) against side of van, dips lettering brush in lettering paint using right hand and does perfect letters by balancing right arm on left wrist, UTTERLY AMAZING... Those were the days, circa 1972/73, Jim's Auto's, Dinting Vale. (:-)

Watching this man at work is a delight. It's the highest art and demonstrates immense knowledge. Best regards from Southern Bavaria.

Thank you for that, very good and simple vid ! I'm looking at  hand painting my motorcycle, and this has helped immensely,  love the videos that show old crafts and techniques that are slowly dying out

A pure work of art.  Would be an honor if you have someone like this sir to teach you

That is cool. I'd like to give this a try.

I’m so very impressed with your video and technique. Thank you for sharing this.

Ich dachte ich bin der einzige der sein auto mit Pinsel bearbeitet... Zum Glück, jetzt kann ich einfach behaupten dass es in liebevoller Handarbeit gemacht wurde 🙂😃

The way that paint flows out is amazing

Just beautiful work 👌

The last of the Mohicans❤👌

Tempted to do my 32 like this. 👍

I am going to try this on my little old corolla looks super satisfying

That's a proper good job.👍🏻

That's fantastic , what a finish!!

It looks great, but it seems so thick and heavy that I don’t know how it would look on modern vehicles with their light thin appearance.

That's an awesome technique.
I always wondered how they were able to achieve such perfection before the 50s, when air spray was invented.
I hope you have found a good apprentice to transmit this art.
