NEW 9 METER BAR FOR SOUTH MELBOURNE'S OLDEST PUB

Nullarbor Sustainable Timber Pty Ltd

We were honoured to build this incredible 9 - Meter Western Australian Jarrah Bar Top for the historic Emerald Hotel in South Melbourne.

Crafted from a 30 year old - Jarrah Slab, this stunning piece has a new home in one of Melbournes oldest and most iconic pubs, with a history dating back to the 1850's.

Being trusted to create such an important feature for a venue with so much history was a prilivage. Watch the journey from raw timber to a finished bar that will be enjoyed for generations.

If you love reclaimed and salvaged timber, craftsmanship and Australian history, don't forget to like, subscribe and leave a comment.

Hi. Yes we do both. We have a Lucus Mill onsite, however we also have about 2000 slabs that have been drying for so many years. My dad first started the business around 40 years ago. 👍

Lunchtime treat .. again .. I have work to go to Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra . .. Instead of sending it via Transport, I am sorely tempted to drive it across the country myself (From Nannup in Southwest WA) and pop in for a visit along the way . .. . In fact two jobs to Canberra . .. but likely not going to happen - But I do like the idea of it.... Also Do enjoy your content.
Cheers . .

Hi Brendan, another top video thank you for sharing, that bar was amazing, such a craftsman you are. The first time the first slab came out the other side of the beast, you could tell that it was ginf=g to be something special. Thank you again for sharing.Jay

I think I am going to have to go to the Emerald Hotel for a Guiness to check out your handywork. The bartop looks amazing.

Wow talk about high on your own supply…. 2 beautiful slabs of wood.😊😊😊😊😊

Do you still slab up big logs or are you just running down your stock of slabs milled over the past few decades? I’d love to see a video on your slabbing process. Do/did you use the Lucas Mill for the huge logs like this Jarrah, or did you have an enormous bandsaw mill? So many questions…

Hi Brendan, that bar top looks absolutely stunning, the colour was just right for a bar top, but I did puck the mitre joint out straight away😅 how many coats do you apply? Cheers mate, best regards from Thornbury Melbourne, Les
