Why did Nintendo think that the dialogue wouldn't fly with the American audience when MGS was really popular there

Love when publishers are like "If this game does well we will do bring it over to this region" and then proceed to market the game terribly so that it has absolutely no chance of selling well

I love that the protag has a tribal tattoo so you know exactly when this game was made.

I call Bandai Namco "Banco Namdai" so often as a joke that I didn't even register it as wrong.

'Disaster: Day of Crisis' sounds like an average happenstance in most Wha Happun stories.

".... those Project X Namco games that everybody wants but nobody actually plays." I hate how true that statement is! I want my Project X Zone 3, damn it!

Irony is... When a japanese videogame made totally to be very american hasn't been released in America.

i still to this day maintain that
"It's like every disaster...is a gift from God!" was preformed wonderfully

I bought a Wii and from a friend and this game came along with it. I couldnt stop playing it after I started, it's one of my favorite Wii games ever.

This one is kind of sad. From the b-roll alone Disaster definitely looks like it could have been a cult classic if people had known about it. I'll have to keep a look out for a copy in future.

Not lying, "I'll smash it faster than a Florida recount" is one of the best things I've heard from a video game ever.

I was one of the primary completion testers for this game when it came through Nintendo of America. To this day, I can relay the story in a long winded and dramatic fashion, plus the various end states that you can get. It was a wild ride.

Gee, why didn’t a game made with American style tropes released everywhere BUT America not sell very well? Such a mystery, REGGIE!!

I played through the whole game when it came out AND IT WAS GLORIOUS! Really up there with Deadly Premonition as far as cult classics from that time go. It is so unhinged and unpredictable. Thoroughly entertaining.

This was the first game I ever watched Matt and co play, so weird to look back that far again

Damn. When the video started i was like well, even someone like Monolithsoft Studios can make stinkers, only to find out by the end that they actually made a pretty fun game only for NoA and NoJ marketing and PR team to completely fuck it up. Yeah, way to treat Monolithsoft Studios right NoA.

Why does listening to Nintendo of America's localization decisions feel like having a stroke?

"And eat an entire watermelon in one go"
You're telling me that is not normal?

Always confuse this one with I Am Alive. Which, tbh, was also a production disaster.

I can’t be the only one who wants lightgun games to return, can I?

I love them.
