14:20 congrats! You just threw George Russell into an oblivion in 2019!

I like your suggestions to fix it but I think a points-based performance cut would unfairly cull drivers in F1.5 teams in seasons where one driver scores few points and another scores 0 - for example Zhou with 4 in and Bottas 0 in 2024. Or Antonelli with 150 and Russell 319 last year.

11:30 my goat kimi raikkonen who famously almost bankrupted lotus f1 team mentioned

this is what it feels like to talk about the patriachy

14:17
Russel scored 0 points in 2019 compared to Kubica's one
And for kubica to scire that 1 point
And for that 1 point for Kubica, 6 cars DNF'd
Russel who had been beating Kubica most of the season, this time was just 2 secs away from Kubica in 11th

I also haven’t heard about Leonardo Faranolli once in my life. Fornaroli tho…

6:37 false,Merc has a gigantic backing already plus Toto will always foam in the mouth the moment he hears "faster than verstappen" or "the next verstappen" (literally the Antonelli saga if we exclude sponsors)

7:35 as if the entire video wasn't good enough already, you also know BWL Justus? Chapeau, man. well fucking done.

14:24
that would be great, if all cars had equal engines...
As alonso once said... 🙃

most stuff you said is correct. Until we come to the solutions.

performance cut:

this would've cut from the current grid:
George Russell
Pierre Gasly
Alexander Albon
Oscar Piastri
Valtteri Bottas
Sergio Perez
Kimi Antonelli
Gabriel Bortoleto
Franco Colapinto
Nico Hulkenberg
Carlos Sainz

from other years:
Sebastian Vettel
Kimi Raikkonen
Felipe Massa
Daniel Ricciardo

probably forgot about more.

F2 champion into F1:
This doesn't work because if F2 was respected, there wouldn't be a need for the rule. F2 is not a spec series AT ALL. And anyway, how do you decide which team gets who? Contracts usually get signed way before the end of the season.

Superlicence nuking:
This one makes the most sense. But again, how do you prove this? Drivers can't just jump into a car and be as fast as F1 drivers. Plus, conditions differ. Check last year's testing to quali laptimes: in testing the track was like 2-3 seconds faster. That means even the worst F2 driver could probably get a licence that way. Not saying the current system isn't flawed, but this one wouldn't be much better if better at all.

Spec race:
Apart from the fact this would NEVER be allowed by any of the F1 teams, let's say Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc get into a collision in turn 1 and both retire. Does Ferrari have to sign a F2 rando? Will F1 fans be forced to see Lando Norris as the face of the sport? Seriously? This alone, in my opinion, proves you haven't thought about these "solutions" for more than 30 seconds. The issues are glaringly obvious.

And no, these solutions wouldn't see the upcoming rise of more talent. This is like putting a wig on a patient and pretending you've cured cancer. The key is to make motorsport cheaper at the entry level (karting is way too expensive) and at the better feeder series push for more equality. I don't see why F1 teams couldn't take part in F2 at least in some technical partnership, the same way they're forced to take part in F1 academy.

An Australian pulling a BWL Justus reference is crazy, that's why I subbed, peak content

5:20 kinda like Lotus when kimi räikkönen got 50 000 for every point scored and almost bankrupted the Lotus team.

regarding the driver's ed test equivalent, unless they can simulate real race pressures of driving with other competitors then it might lead to differences in expectations, and if we do in fact let all the test takers drive in a simulated race, that gets closer to the super-license thing where they race each other. I think a system where points decay over time could be better, so that if someone scores in a season, then the points decay by a certain factor in the next season, so that they have to stay consistent. It's a general idea but I feel there's more that can be done to refine it.

14:12 people will decline that redbull contract even if its worth like a shit ton tbh

The point ranking system would only be logically applicable in series where everyone uses the same base cars, which they don't do in F1.
Also, the system would immediately favour those who have been there for longer, which is the opposite of what we want.

You would have to compare drivers based on their performance when compared to their own teammate, and even then they could still be affected by things outside their control.

How does Jack Doohan transform into Robert Kubica?

i think the changes would be better if there was a grace period like rookies getting destroyed by teammates

If the driver in last place got fired George Russell would have been fired

The fact that you always make sure to remind us that Raikkonen is one of the two most talented f1 drivers of the 21st century tells me that you definitely know ball.

Finally an F1 Youtuber who more or less can pronounce Schumacher.
