To be fair to the police, how could they have possibly imagined that fighting would occur in pubs just adjacent to the football ground on a Saturday afternoon just before a local football derby? Who would have ever been able to predict that?

In 1988 there were 20 pubs on the Old Kent Rd; now there are only 2.

@ 1.53 A ferrari 308 bit rare in New Cross

The coppers are more cockney than the fans and loving the buzz lol 😂

I heard ronnie pickering turned up and sorted them all out 😂

The Canterbury Arms is now an African suya spot. Old Kent Road, down from 35-40 pubs in 1995 to 2 left now. The Windsor just across the road from the old Canterbury arms site and the Nelson half way up Old Kent Road.

I love seeing footage of England or what I call Old England from the 70s and 80s and 90s..the days I grew up in..good old days..lot of nostalgia with the clobber the fellas are wearing..old cars..the way the old terraces were..good stuff 👍

As a West Ham fan who lived in SE London I got off the 21 bus around ten minutes after this happened and couldn't understand why it was so quiet on the streets around the Canterbury Arms.  The first time I saw this video I was quite relieved I'd missed it all!

Millwall fan. Swings and roundabouts. But this is football. Love it! 😮😅😊

Good job Terry McCann wasnt minding that pub. :glasses-purple-yellow-diamond:

West Ham ⚒️ From Indonesia With Love 💗

''l tell ya what''?...''that is what is called west ham taking liberties at millwall''....fking brilliantly put by the copper .🤣👌

Da war die Welt noch in Ordnung

This was my old manor yet i was a west ham fan. This was my first visit to the den. Being only 20 I wasn't to frightened yet it was certainly full on. Will be interested to see what its like on Saturday

I thought the opening monologue was going to be a long lost recording of Pete and Dud!

The Old Kent Road looks so different now

Proper coppers , English lions on both sides . I miss those days

The mad bastards. Hanging around the station, arguing about philosopy, singing:
"You're going home like an existentialist" and arguing about Cartesian dualism and whether Henri Bergsen was correct in his opposition to Descartes' theories.

It was like a home game for us that day. Bring on the wall ⚒️
