In a world where corporate gaming wants to bury the classics in order to try and force us into their modern Skinner boxes they call games, it's projects like this that keep the past alive. This is true archival work. You're curating a museum of PC gaming, and it's absolutely massive. We must protect the eXo projects at all costs.

I lost my father 4 months ago unexpectedly, and my brother and I were talking about all the old DOS and Windows games he loved playing when we were kids, so I said let's make a list up of all his favorite DOS and Windows games, and start playing thru them together this winter, we put together a massive list of all the games he loved, and with these amazing eXo projects, we can fulfill our goal of playing thru all the games he loved.  I thank you, and everyone involved in putting these amazing projects together from the bottom of my heart.  Thank you so much. It means literally everything to me right now.

Awwsome, been eagerly awaiting this announcement 😊 What a breakthrough. Well done 🎉

you guys are legends. l e g e n d s !

Thanks to everyone involved, you guys rock

Dear eXo,

I am incredibly grateful to you and your team for putting so much time and passion into your projects. I’ve been around for many years now and support your project whenever I can.

At the moment, I’m working on creating and organizing the Big Box images for the GLP pack(greetings to Timber!). Even that alone is a huge task, and I know how much time something like this takes. I’m also very involved with old games in my private life.. including lots of discussions with friends about why I spend so much time on this.

For me personally, it’s important to preserve games. Especially here in Germany, we’re operating in a legal grey area when it comes to abandoned games; there’s no clear legal ruling we can rely on. That makes it even more important to me to ensure the self-preservation of old games so we can show them to the next generation. There were so many great games back then, culture needs to be preserved in every form.

I put a lot of time and heart into this, and it’s fun and hugely motivating for me to see the project grow and, above all, to see everyone pulling together and making the best out of it.

Thank you!!!

What an amazing project.  Any word on when 97 , 98 etc   coming out?

Doom, Myst, 3D Pinball, RocketJockey, great to see these being saved from that era.  Love the extras and online / networked options.

When I was 10 I remember finding a compilation CD with 100 DOS games in a retail park that had a rather relaxed attitude to copyright, and thinking to myself how will I ever play this many games.

Thankyou for ensuring that this feeling will never, ever leave me.

Hey, one thing I'd like to add, is making a tutorial video on how to import these games into launchbox as separate system to import the games into. For those who have already setup their Launchbox build and for those who haven't set up their launchbox.

This is amazing.. In the year of massive enshittification in tech, projects are this bring tears to my eyes.

This is a really incredible offering, just on its face. But i want to really call out and appreciate the community you've built, this is clearly the work of a brilliant team. Great job getting everyone together and ushering the release!

Great news! I can't donate from Russia to your project because it's illegal for us now. But surely I'll help with my NAS to host the torrent )) Thanks a lot for that job you guys do for all of us.

ClueFinders & JumpStart were my favorite games when I was a Kid

Your anecdote of your mom playing Holy Grail and waking up the house with laughter was awesome. Oh yeah, this project is also AWESONE. Thanks, eXo and team!

While count of exes running greater than baseline#, wait 3 seconds, if count exes running greater than baseline#, prompt for close with 30 second autoclose countdown.

I tip my hat to you and the crew. Absolutely LEGENDARY work!

The handful of Win32S games, nice

A dream for every Retro Gamer. This is so great.

9: The Last Resort? Man, that takes me back. I've got an original boxed copy from back in the day. One of those rare point and click games that me and my friends played together. Happy days!
