John Lithgow Dumbledore be like at the start of the tournament: "Some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make."

In some schools, it is standard etiquette that when the headmaster/headmistress walks in, everyone stands and remains standing until the head sits or tells them to sit.

I always thought the beards came about because that was Dumbledores joke. If you try to fool my age-line, you’re gonna have to wear my beard.

I minored in French in college. In class one day we were talking about our favorite foods. When I mentioned my family’s fish stew recipe, the teacher suggested that it might be like a bouillabaisse. All I could think of in that moment was Ron saying “Bless you."

I love that the twins could just laugh at themselves afterwards and not be bitter

27:42 That scared the heck out of me. I sneezed the second before you both said Bless you. I was so confused because I said "Thank you" without thinking and then looked around and no one else was in the room. I had to rewind to make sure I didn't have an auditory hallucination.

Harry doesn’t get selected for the tournament.

“Moody” after asking Harry to stay late next DADA class: (mutters “Portus”)…..”Potter, hand me that manky old boot.”

John Lithgow played Winston Churchill in The Crown. So he has the ability to portray a well-known British prime minister

I think the age line is another great example of the power of the Elder Wand. The twins seem very confident that aging potion fools an age line, but it doesn't work, because Dumbledore drew a perfect age line.

Honestly I'm surprised that seeing how Lee Jordan was always just as big joker as the twins, that he didn't just jump over the line as a joke just to get his own glorious beard.

But also this scene is super sad since that is literally the only time when George gets to see his twin bro as old man.

Regarding thinking of Snape as “aww, he was a great guy” at the end - it was SUCH a twist to find out that his love (i know, rlly an obsession, but at the time of first reading implies love) for Lily is what ultimately paved the way for Harry to live. And bc of that sudden understanding in that particular moment, it (temporarily) absolves him of all the horribleness leading up. Of course, after the initial wonder of it all passes, we look back and realize his selfishness

I think it may make sense that the Beauxbatons students sat at the Ravenclaw table - they didn't feel at home, but they sat at the table decorated in blue, the Beauxbatons colour to try to feel more at home

I always saw Hermione’s initial attitude towards the other school as more of a defensive move. I know she doesn’t care about her reputation on the surface, but if I was #1 in my class and a bunch of other students showed up, I’d probably be pretty nervous of feeling outclassed and inadequate. Love you guys!

As for the binding magical contract, I always figured that the reason it was introduced immediately after the Unforgivable Curses is because there’s a curse on the cup, or the cup places a curse on the person it chooses to be a champion. The curse being the desire to compete and win the tournament. Sorta like the DADA job curse. The tournament is a cursed game that forces its players to play by magically influencing them to WANT to play.

I love how they try to find reason why the reader shouldn't like Beauxbaton, when one word is enough: french.

Hagrid’s Cabin in the woods is a life goal for me.

@danielrhouck 1 year ago

Maybe if that plan hadnʼt worked, “Moody” would just lure Harry to be alone in Hogsmeade, give him a Portkey there.

@alisonrobbins1126 1 year ago

Hey Brothers! 17 is the minimum age to participate in the tournament and is also the age of majority in the Wizarding World, thus, the students from the visiting schools are ADULTS and wouldn't need chaperones. So, that's my reasoning why it's just the Head Master/Mistress and there are no other staff members acting as chaperones from the visiting schools.

I was a diary worker when I was younger and I can totally understand how that one hippogriff is special and the others are food as there is always one cow that becomes loved and thusly the pet while all the others become burgers. Our pet cow was a lula-bell I called her lu like I was mooing and she would come running happy as can be. She was our head heefer and lived a full life, the rest not so much so.... But I bet they were delicious.
