Heavy is the crown

Pewdiepie used to say that he hated being the number 1 youtuber because everything he said carried a weight that he didn't want it. He was the face of the entire platform, and he didn't ask for it. I feel like it's the same with Gura. She just wants to play games, say whatever she wants and and be goofy without the pressure of having to represent an entire company

I can’t even imagine the stress. She even surpassed not only her jp senpais but also all of vtubers. The pressure is just too heavy

I feel like people like Calli or Suisei who actively seek success can handle pressure way better. Gura was just a memer that catapulted into insane popularity in like 1 month. She didnt set out for fame, she just wanted to play games and have some fun.

She literally became the face of Vtubing in the West without her expecting it.
She wasn't built for it, She's a Lovable Goofball that wanted to Enjoy and Play Games with her Friends but Fate had other plan.

This....... is the real definition of "Suffering from success"
Imagine you just want to do your work normally and then suddenly BOOM! Promoted to CEO.
The difference of just going for a slow life to obtaining a job with a mission and vision without ever planning or having thoughts about it.

Holomyth truly was one in a million.
due to people locked down and the raging social media diaspora made them debut in a very specific circumstance.

even after all this time and even during topics such as these, gura still finds a way to talk about feet, i have no choice but to respect it

Any vtuber could have been the one to get a billion subscribers in the blink of an eye, and fate chose the one with a resting heart rate of 150bpm. Sick sense of humor

Thank you for clipping that scene, more and more people should understand that she is actually fragile from being positioned on trend

2:18 I'm pretty sure she said "I remember asking Ame...." and the answer was also from Ame. Ame reassured her that it's okay to not be good at it at the start. It's a skill Gura had to learn.

Imagine being a meme girl streaming to hundreds, maybe thousand at most, then suddenly become the apex streaming to hundred of thousands. That's scary.

I thought she would say something like"You're awful, Murray."

This kinda confirmed something I've always suspected: a lot of graduations are due to stress and impostor syndrome.

I think I heard people say - correct me if I’m wrong - that Fubuki was glad when Gura surpassed her in subscribers, since she knew full well the pressure that came from being at the top in Holo. So it was a weight lifted off her shoulders to not be responsible for that milestone. I think that says a lot, especially since Gura then went and rose to the top of all of vtubing.

3:14 *ID(Indonesia) and Japan

I understand her stress of being number one

The drawbacks to being number one. Gura, thank you for everything. I found Hololive and other amazing VTubers because of you.

That 'terrified' comment from gura at the start of that rant almost looked like she had that veteran thousand yard stare at that moment, especially with the pause before and after. 😅
But man, being so nervous that you can't get sleep or keep food down is rough.  Surprised Gura kept at it for 5 whole years.

Rank number one isn't an achievement, it's a prison which forces you to dedicate your to life to defending a temporary title.
