Amazing how Ian portrayed the elderly Darth Sidious at the relatively young age of 37 and 16 years later he portrayed a younger version of Sidious.

It's amazing how casually Vader and Palpatine were talking all about Sith stuff while about several dozen imperial troops and workers were in hearing range.

Ian McDiarmid must have so much fun with that voice. I wonder if he ever used it for fun to prank people on the phone or such.

I love how Palpatine still calls him "friend" like he used to call Anakin when he was manipulating him during the Clone wars

Translation: “I will do the persuasion part, you will do the dying by his hand part.”

The emperor is a very scary figure. You can expect a rich, greedy man, covered with gold like a real emperor, but when you see this old man with a stick, hidden in a black robe, apparently weak... Chills

Love how everywhere Palpatine goes, theres just a few random senators/officials trailing him

You have to give Ian McDiarmid credit.  Right from his first scene, he nailed the entire character exactly how we would play him for the next 30 years.

Now we can truly see the RISE OF SKYWALKER

Mad respect to the artists and painters who spend hours and days to create those matte paintings to make it look like that hanger was full of troopers standing as honour guards.

1:30 - The commander behind Vader is using every bit of willpower to not think, to not look, to not walk too fast, but stare straight ahead and hope this ends as fast as possible 😂 I think it’s safe to assume the Emperor’s presence was like a menacing storm cloud over the entire hangar.

The guards in red add such an amazing visual flare to this scene. Red against the white stormtroopers and the shiny black surface. Genius visuals.
